School Fees in Gujranwala: Admission Charges, BISE Dues and a First-Year Cost Sheet

Gujranwala's private schools rarely post a current price list, so this hub pulls together what is on paper as of 12 October 2026: BISE Gujranwala's per-pupil dues and their deadlines as of that date, Punjab's limits on admission fees and yearly rises, one school's dated fee card, and a sheet for totalling a full year.

SchoolNama Editorial · 12 October 2026 · 11 min read

Short answer

No Gujranwala private school we checked on 12 October 2026 had a current fee card online; the newest, from QPC on G.T. Road, dates from January 2024. As of that date, BISE Gujranwala bills Rs 2,050 a candidate for Class 11 registration, Rs 600 more from 13 to 27 October 2026, and the 1984 Ordinance caps a private school's admission fee and deposit at a month's tuition each.

How we researched this: On 12 October 2026 we read BISE Gujranwala's notices on its own site (letters 414, 466, 470, 471 and 472, notification 59/26 and press release 44/26), the 1984 Ordinance and the 2014 Act, PEF's FAS and EVS FAQs (via June 2026 Wayback snapshots, as pef.edu.pk refused connections), reports in The News, The Nation and ProPakistani, and the websites of QPC, Beaconhouse, The City School, Allied Schools, Roots International and others, and counted SchoolNama's own Gujranwala records by script. Figures from listing and aggregator sites were not used.

Gujranwala parents usually hear a school's price as one monthly number, yet the bill for a first year is built from several pieces that arrive at different times: an admission form and admission fee, a deposit, funds charged once or once a year, the board's registration dues in Classes 9 and 11, books, uniform and the daily trip to school. This hub sets out which of those pieces anyone has put on the public record for Gujranwala as of 12 October 2026, who decides each one, and how to add them into a single figure before you sign. Families weighing free or token-fee places will find those routes unpacked at /news/low-fee-schools-in-gujranwala, and our city directory sits at /gujranwala.

The private price list is the missing piece. On 12 October 2026 we looked for a current, dated fee schedule on the websites of schools and chains with Gujranwala branches. Beaconhouse's pages for its BCP Gujranwala and Wapda Town campuses show no fees. At The City School, a family is handed what the admissions page calls a fee structure slip, but only once the form is in and the registration charge paid. Allied's network-wide page on kinds of fee, unchanged since 2019, names headings without amounts, and its link to a rates page led to a 404. Roots International's 'Tuition & Fee Policy' page embeds a policy file kept in a 2016 upload folder of its old site, so we set it aside as out of date. Among the fee pages the Gujranwala Cantonment Board's site links (CGH, engineering, NADRA and revenue), none is for a school. We found none of these schools' Gujranwala tuition in any official source, so we print none.

One school does publish a full card, though it is not current. QPC, the Quaid-e-Azam Divisional trust college on G.T. Road, links a fee sheet dated from January 2024 from its FAQ, where the answer calls it the approved tuition fee for Academic Year 2024. Its one-time and yearly lines are a Rs 4,000 admission form, a Rs 20,000 admission fee, a Rs 20,000 development fund and a Rs 20,000 security that the sheet itself marks refundable, plus an exam fee charged once a year (Rs 1,000 for classes 2 to 5, Rs 1,500 for 6 to 8, Rs 2,000 for 9th to 2nd year, Rs 3,000 for O Level), a one-time Rs 1,000 health profile, a one-time Rs 3,000 'Additional Comforts' charge for play group and F.Sc. pupils, and computer, sports and security charges of Rs 100 each per month. Monthly tuition in the first shift ran from Rs 6,105 for nursery and prep to Rs 12,055 for the play group, with O Level at Rs 10,900, against what the sheet calls 'total admission charges' of between Rs 67,205 and Rs 76,155 depending on class. The same FAQ says QPC gives no sibling discount, and a footnote warns that a pupil whose dues go unpaid for three months will be struck off. These are figures from almost three years ago at a trust-run college; we use them only to show the shape of a Gujranwala bill, and we have not established whether the 1984 Ordinance's limits apply to this school.

Because so little is published, SchoolNama groups Gujranwala's options by who fixes the price rather than by rupee bands nobody can source. Government schools sit at one end. The 2014 compulsory-education Act, at section 3(3), frees families from 'any kind of fee or charges or expenses' at state and local-authority schools, but section 1 leaves its start date to a notification and we could not confirm which parts are in force. The Nation said on 3 April 2026 that 30 million free books were on their way to pupils as Punjab's state schools opened the new year. PEF partners come next: the foundation's FAS answers forbid a partner from billing an enrolled child 'any fee in whatsoever form', listing admission and registration charges by name, and its EVS answers extend that to voucher holders and promise free Punjab textbooks. TCF's own finder shows seven campuses for Gujranwala and no price. Everything else is a private school pricing itself within the 1984 Ordinance's rules.

None of these routes is entirely free of board money in the Matric and intermediate years, and the rules differ by class. For Class 11 in the 2026-28 session, letters 466 and 472 set a single Rs 2,050 rate for every affiliated institution, with no separate government figure. Class 9 is less clear. The newest main Class 9 registration schedule the board has posted, letter 414 of 9 April 2025, covers the 2025-27 session: it exempted all government institutions from the Rs 1,000 registration fee, so they paid Rs 545 per candidate for processing, scholarship and development fund, while private affiliated institutions paid Rs 1,745 with registration and sports fees added. The matching letter for 2026-28, letter 462 of 29 April 2026, is not posted, so we do not know whether that exemption was repeated; letter 470, which covers only 2026-28 re-admission and late registration, sets the same rates for all affiliated institutions. Letter 414's exemption is worded for government institutions only and does not mention PEF partner schools; PEF's own FAQ says an unregistered school that joins FAS must then register with the District Education Authority, so do not assume the government exemption reaches a PEF school. PEF's rule stops the school, not the board, from charging the pupil. None of these letters says whether a school passes the board's amount on to families, so ask any school, government, PEF or private, whether it will appear on your bill.

For Class 11 in the 2026-28 session, letter 466 set Rs 2,050 per candidate (registration Rs 1,000, processing Rs 500, sports Rs 200, scholarship Rs 150 and development fund Rs 200), payable without a late fee from 21 August to 5 October and with a Rs 600 fine from 6 to 20 October. Letter 472, citing a Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen notification of 9 October, then extended the single-fee window to 12 October 2026 and set a Rs 600 special fee per candidate for registration from 13 to 27 October 2026. It says no institution may register a Class 11 candidate after 27 October, and that institutions which registered pupils with the late fee after 5 October can claim it back through the refund form on the board's website. Letter 466 also carries a separate penalty: if an institution's online registration return, forwarding letter and fee form with proof of payment do not reach the board by the last date, the institution owes Rs 200 a day per student, which the letter calls non-waivable and not open to appeal. Letter 472 says its other conditions follow the earlier letters.

Class 9 is a different picture. Letter 470 kept a second Class 9 window open from 2 September until 1 October 2026: Rs 2,050 to re-admit a candidate, or Rs 8,000 to register a child the school had admitted in time but left off the first list, a sum that folds in Rs 600 of late fee and Rs 5,350 of special fee. That letter rules out any Class 9 admission or registration after 1 October, so the route is shut. Letter 471 of 3 October 2026 gave heads of government and private schools until 31 October 2026 to finish their Class 9 pupils' live photo and biometric record, warning that otherwise the candidates' admission forms would not upload on the school portal. Letter 470 refers back to the original 2026-28 schedule, letter 462, which is not on the board's site; the 2025-27 rates are set out above.

Exam entry is billed on top. The board's meeting of 19 September 2026 approved new charges with immediate effect, and notification 59/26 published them on 24 September. Per admission in any class from 9th to 12th, processing is set at Rs 1,300 against Rs 1,000 before. The notification's 'Admission Fee SSC (Science & Arts with Practical) – Single Part' is set at Rs 900 for a regular candidate (was Rs 700) and Rs 950 for a private one (was Rs 750); the HSSC version of the same admission fee is Rs 1,050 and Rs 1,100 (was Rs 850 and Rs 900). Rechecking is Rs 2,000 a copy and IBCC verification Rs 4,100 a copy. Those 'regular' and 'private' columns describe the candidate, not the school: the board runs separate admission portals for regular and private candidates, and its press release 44/26 of 6 August 2026 sends regular candidates' result cards through their institutions but posts private candidates' cards to their home addresses. Neither column tells you whether a school is government or private. As of 12 October 2026 the board had not posted its admission schedule for the 2027 annual exams, so the full 2027 exam bill for Class 9 and 10 was not known on that date. Intermediate pupils who change course should note letter 466's charges: Rs 2,400 to change a subject or Rs 2,200 to change group until 31 December 2026, rising to Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,700 from 1 January 2027 until the result.

Punjab's 1984 Ordinance gives parents three checks on a private school's bill. Under section 7A(8) the admission fee may not be more than one month's tuition, and the security deposit has the same separate ceiling; section 7A(9) counts laboratory, library and 'any other fee or amount' a school collects as fee; and section 7A(10) forbids making parents buy textbooks, uniform or other material from a particular shop. For yearly increases, 7A(1) holds any class costing Rs 4,000 or more per month within 5% of what it cost the year before, while 7A(5) allows the Registering Authority, after hearing the school, to grant a rise of up to 8%. Gujranwala parents should know the department has quoted smaller numbers since. According to The News of 7 July 2020, education officials informed a Lahore High Court judge that the 8% instruction had been corrected to 5%, bringing it into line with what the Supreme Court decided in 2019. In July 2026, ProPakistani reported on the 25th, officials told the Punjab Assembly's school education committee that yearly rises above 4% to 5% are not permitted, adding that they cannot fix what a school charges in the first place. If its section 13(d) is in force, the 2014 Act narrows things further, leaving a private school with just three lawful headings (tuition, admission and a prescribed deposit) and barring a building fund by any other label.

On books, uniform and the school run, Gujranwala's school websites are close to silent. No school page we opened priced a book set or a uniform; QPC posts 2026 book lists by class as linked files, and its FAQ describes the uniform by season without prices. Transport is where QPC is most explicit: its FAQ says the bus service covers a 35 km radius, naming Wazirabad, Daska, Gujranwala Cantt and Kamonke as well as internal city routes, and warns that a family which stops using the bus must put in an application and that 'the already transport fee is not refunded'. It does not publish the route charge. Province-wide, ProPakistani wrote on 4 May 2026 that new registration conditions would make private schools disclose their fees and run transport for half or more of their pupils; with no official notice found, we count that as a press report only. SchoolNama's /pick-and-drop page cannot help in Gujranwala yet: its eight van operators all serve Islamabad or Rawalpindi. Before you agree to any van, get the monthly rate in writing and run it through our checklist at /news/how-to-choose-a-school-van-safety-checklist.

SchoolNama's own records explain why this page leans on public bodies rather than a price table. Of our 73 Gujranwala listings, 41 are filed under Model Town, 23 under Civil Lines and 9 under Satellite Town, and none carries a fee record. The QPC profile at /schools/quaid-e-azam-divisional-public-school-and-college-gujranwala and Allied's Faiz Campus at /schools/allied-school-faiz-campus-gujranwala give a location and an area, nothing more, so the written schedule must come from each office. The cost sheet below is designed for that visit: fill one column per school, keep refundable money out of the total, and once two or three are complete, put them side by side on /compare. Results and curriculum get separate treatment on SchoolNama: a shortlist of the city's Matric options lives at /news/best-matric-schools-in-gujranwala. Families weighing Cambridge papers instead can read what we found, and what we could not confirm, at /news/best-o-level-schools-in-gujranwala.

Checklist before you decide

  • ✓Ask for the fee card with the session printed on it; an undated card tells you little.
  • ✓List the form charge, the admission fee and any processing charge on separate lines of your sheet.
  • ✓Put the admission fee beside one month's tuition; under the 1984 Ordinance it should not be larger.
  • ✓Do the same for the security deposit, and get the refund terms and timing on paper.
  • ✓Ask what any development, building or annual fund pays for, and how often it is charged.
  • ✓Count the months of tuition billed in a year, and whether fees are collected in advance.
  • ✓For Class 9 or 11, ask whether BISE Gujranwala's registration amount is on your bill or paid by the school.
  • ✓At a PEF partner, confirm with the head who pays the board's charges, since PEF bars the school from charging your child.
  • ✓Get a priced book list and the cost of one uniform set, and confirm you may buy both anywhere.
  • ✓For the bus or van, get the monthly rate to your street and the rule if you stop using it mid-year.
  • ✓Compare this session's class fee with last session's; at Rs 4,000 a month and above, a jump past 5% deserves a written reason.
  • ✓Class 11 families (2026-28): the single-fee date was 12 October 2026, and 27 October 2026 is the final cut-off for registration with the Rs 600 special fee.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find a trustworthy price range for Gujranwala private schools online?

Not as of 12 October 2026. On that date the Gujranwala branch pages of the chains we checked showed no tuition, The City School issues its fee slip only after registration, and the newest full card we found, QPC's, is dated January 2024. Each school on your shortlist should give you its present schedule in writing, session included.

What does a Gujranwala school typically ask for at admission besides tuition?

Expect an admission form charge, an admission fee, often a development or similar fund, and a security deposit. QPC's January 2024 sheet listed all four, at Rs 4,000 and three items of Rs 20,000, and marked its security refundable. If a school falls under the 1984 Ordinance, neither its admission fee nor its deposit may top a month of tuition.

Does a government or PEF school pupil pay BISE Gujranwala's charges?

It depends on the class. For Class 11 in 2026-28, letters 466 and 472 set one Rs 2,050 rate for every affiliated institution. For Class 9, the board's last posted main registration schedule (letter 414, session 2025-27) waived the registration fee for government institutions, charging them Rs 545 per candidate against Rs 1,745 for private ones; the 2026-28 letter is not posted. Letter 414's waiver names government institutions only, not PEF partners, and PEF bars its partners from charging pupils, so ask the head who will pay the board.

When does Class 11 board registration in Gujranwala close?

Under letter 472, the Rs 2,050 single fee applied until 12 October 2026, registration with a Rs 600 special fee per candidate runs from 13 to 27 October 2026, and no registration is allowed after 27 October 2026. Registration goes through the school. The extra Class 9 window under letter 470 ended on 1 October 2026.

Where can I find prices for books, uniform and the school bus?

Mostly at the school office. No Gujranwala school page we opened priced books or uniforms, and QPC lists bus routes without a price. Under 7A(10) you choose the shop for books and uniform. SchoolNama's van listings do not reach Gujranwala yet.

How much may a private school in Gujranwala put its fee up each year?

Read literally, section 7A lets a class priced at Rs 4,000 or more go up 5% each year, and 8% when the Registering Authority signs off. The department itself has since spoken of tighter numbers, telling judges in 2020 the figure was 5% and legislators in July 2026 that rises stop at 4% to 5%.
