Schools With Pick & Drop in Multan: How to Compare Routes, Cost and Safety

Only one Multan school we checked describes a fleet of its own, The City School points parents to campus van-driver lists, most other school websites say nothing about the school run, and SchoolNama has no Multan operator to name yet, so this guide sets out what is published and how to test a van offer yourself.

SchoolNama Editorial · 24 October 2026 · 11 min read

Short answer

On 24 October 2026 SchoolNama's pick-and-drop directory listed no Multan van or car operator. Of the Multan schools we checked, only Multan Public School & College, on a Punjab government page, describes its own fleet: 15 buses and 3 small vehicles. The City School runs none but keeps van-driver lists at each campus; the rest were silent, and none published a fare.

How we researched this: On 24 October 2026 we checked SchoolNama's live /pick-and-drop directory for listings filed under Multan and ran searches from Multan pickup areas, and read the websites of school groups with Multan campuses: for Beaconhouse, The City School, Allied Schools and Lahore Grammar School we fetched every page in each site's sitemap that would load, for The Educators and the Multan Garrison Education System (which runs the Army Public Schools in Multan Cantt) every page linked from the homepage, and we searched the text for transport, bus, van, pick and drop, conveyance and shuttle. We also read the Multan district government's page on Multan Public School & College and the Punjab School Education Department's website. For rules and costs we used reports from Dawn, The Nation, ProPakistani, Pakistan Today, APP, ARY News, Radio Pakistan and 24 News dated August 2019 to September 2026. Dar-e-Arqam's website blocked our tools, we found no website for a Multan Divisional Public School or a Multan Bloomfield Hall campus, and we did not see the underlying government orders.

In Multan, as in other Punjab cities, the school run usually comes down to a bus the school itself runs, a privately owned van or Suzuki that works a fixed loop of streets, a rickshaw, or a car shared by a few households. A child may live in Gulgasht Colony and study in the Cantonment, or travel in from New Multan or Bosan Road, so the route matters as much as the vehicle. SchoolNama's city page at /multan and the area pages /multan/cantt, /multan/gulgasht-colony, /multan/new-multan and /multan/bosan-road are for shortlisting schools; this guide is about getting the child there and back.

First, our own directory, because parents searching /pick-and-drop should know what is behind it. Filtered to Multan, the directory showed no provider on 24 October 2026, and a search from a Multan pickup area to a Multan school returned none. The whole directory held one listing that day, an unverified van filed under Islamabad on a route through PWD Housing Society, Soan Garden and Bahria Town, so for Multan there is nothing from us to recommend or review. The search tool is ready for Multan: it already offers Cantt, Gulgasht Colony, New Multan and Bosan Road as pickup areas, it matches a route by every stop along it rather than only the operator's base, and it separates one-way from both-way requests. The page also says providers cannot browse parents, and its results view adds that they never see your details first. The page invites van operators to list a route free through /for-providers; until Multan operators do, if you are a parent, treat any van you find through friends, school gates or online groups with the checks later in this guide.

Then we turned to the schools. On 24 October 2026 we read what we could find from nine Multan school operators: Multan Public School & College, The City School, Beaconhouse, The Educators, Allied Schools, Lahore Grammar School, the Multan Garrison Education System, Dar-e-Arqam and the Punjab School Education Department, which runs the government schools. One describes transport it operates, one points parents to outside van drivers, six carry nothing about the daily school run on any page we could read, and one site, Dar-e-Arqam's, showed only a bot-verification screen.

Multan Public School & College is the clearest case. The Multan district government's page on the school, which is undated, lists 15 buses and 3 small vehicles providing a pick and drop service to students, and says its separate boys' and girls' branches sit close to each other near Bahauddin Zakariya University. The page gives no routes and no charge, and the school's own website showed only an under-construction notice when we tried it, so ask the front office which areas the buses reach, whether a seat is free for 2026-27 and what it costs. The school's SchoolNama listing is at /schools/multan-public-school-multan.

The City School is the one network that answers the question directly. The FAQ on its national contact page, last modified on 27 April 2026, says the school does not offer any transportation services but that each campus keeps a list of trusted van drivers. That list is a starting point, not a safety guarantee: the school names drivers, it does not run them, so ask your child's Multan campus how long each driver has been on the list and whether it has checked his papers. The campus's SchoolNama listing is /schools/the-city-school-multan.

On the remaining websites we found nothing about how pupils get to school each day. Beaconhouse's site, where we read 1,561 pages, The Educators' site, where we read the pages linked from its homepage, Allied Schools' 260 pages including its FAQs and Admissions 2026 page, and the Multan Garrison Education System's site, which lists the Army Public School & College boys' and girls' branches on School Road and the APS junior and pre-school campuses at Fort Colony in Multan Cantt, never mention transport. Lahore Grammar School's site mentions buses and vans only in its safeguarding policy, which covers pupils' behaviour on school-owned or rented vehicles; it does not say any LGS campus runs them, and its sitemap lists no Multan page. The School Education Department's website carries no transport information for government schools. An empty website tells you about the web pages, not the school gate, because a campus may run or suggest vans without ever putting it online. Ask each front office directly, and note that the Multan campuses of these networks have their own SchoolNama listings, such as /schools/beaconhouse-cantt-campus-multan, /schools/army-public-school-and-college-for-boys-and-girls-multan-cantt-multan and /schools/allied-school-mumtaz-campus-multan.

Punjab's rules push schools towards running transport of their own, at least on paper. Dawn reported on 23 November 2024 that the Lahore High Court, in a case on smog and vehicle emissions, directed all schools to provide transport for students after the winter vacation, warned that schools should not send parents notices disclaiming responsibility for transport, and told the government to have the transport department inspect vehicles every three months and issue fitness certificates. ProPakistani reported on 9 January 2025 that the Punjab School Education Department, enforcing the court's orders, told all private schools to present a plan for transporting at least 50% of their students, with schools that failed to comply risking suspension of their registration. Neither report mentions Multan by name, and the court report does not say whether the order reaches beyond Lahore, so ask your school whether it has filed such a plan and what it says.

Enforcement has been patchy. Pakistan Today, drawing on an Express Tribune report, wrote on 13 April 2026 that the general secretary of the Punjab Teachers Union said implementation of the instructions to private schools remained virtually non-existent, and that officials acknowledged there was no effective monitoring system for school transport, including vehicle condition and passenger limits. A parent in the same report said eight to ten children were often squeezed into small rickshaws.

Gas cylinders are the safety rule with the longest history. Dawn reported on 6 August 2019 that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had banned CNG and LPG in all public service vehicles and said school vans, being private vehicles, would in no case be allowed to use CNG. In Multan itself, The Nation reported on 9 March 2025 that the Multan division commissioner, Aamir Karim Khan, ordered a crackdown on illegal LPG and CNG refilling and a thorough fitness inspection of school buses and passenger vehicles, in a joint operation with the traffic police and the district administration. Emissions are a second test: ProPakistani reported on 24 November 2025 that the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency ordered buses, vans and coasters used by schools to be inspected and certified for emissions, with fines and possible impoundment for vehicles that fail. Lahore's traffic police went further in August 2026, banning LPG cylinders in any van, wagon or rickshaw used for school transport and the seating of children beside rickshaw drivers, according to APP on 22 August 2026, and ARY News reported the cylinder ban the same day; those reports describe a Lahore order, and we found no equivalent Multan announcement, but the same standards are sensible to ask of a Multan van.

On price, we found no van tariff from any Multan or Punjab authority, no charge on any Multan school website we read, and no news report giving a Multan school van fare, so we give no figure. When you collect quotes, compare like with like: ask whether the price is for one trip or both, which months are billed, including the summer vacation, and how it changes with the road distance from your gate to the school gate. Set the total beside the fee items in our guide at /news/school-fees-in-multan before you commit.

Older pupils have one new public option. ProPakistani and 24 News reported on 17 September 2026 that the chief minister had inaugurated the Green Electric Bus service in Multan, starting with 60 buses and free for students, women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities; Radio Pakistan reported her saying the service's flat fare is Rs 20. The reports do not say how students prove eligibility or whether a route passes near your home or school, so check both before relying on it, and remember that a public bus is unlikely to have an attendant or to wait at the school gate.

Seat belts, GPS tracking and attendants are things to ask about rather than things the Multan rules we read guarantee. What the sources do support is a short list: no CNG or LPG cylinder in the vehicle, and a vehicle that has passed its fitness and emissions checks. Add your own conditions on top: no more children than seats, as Lahore's traffic police now enforce, an adult attendant on both runs, a female attendant if you want one, a fixed seat with a working belt for every child, live location you can follow, and the driver's identity card and licence seen by you. The vehicle type matters too, because a Suzuki, a Hiace and a car shared by three families carry different numbers of children and take different times to finish a loop.

Route fit can be tested before any money changes hands. Ask for the list of stops and the order of pickups, the time at your gate and at the school gate, the number of children on board and the longest ride any of them makes. Check the afternoon run against your child's dismissal time, and ask what happens on days when the regular driver is away. Use /pick-and-drop with your area and school as one starting point as Multan operators join, use /compare if transport tips the choice between two schools, keep your child's name, school and address out of open groups until you have chosen an operator, and take the questions in our driver checklist at /news/how-to-choose-a-school-van-safety-checklist to the first meeting.

Frequently asked questions

Which Multan schools offer transport?

Of the Multan school operators we checked on 24 October 2026, only Multan Public School & College describes its own fleet: a Multan district government page lists 15 buses and 3 small vehicles for pick and drop. The City School says it runs no transport but each campus keeps a list of trusted van drivers. Beaconhouse, The Educators, Allied Schools, Lahore Grammar School and the Army Public Schools' Multan Garrison Education System say nothing about the daily school run online, which is not proof of no service, so ask each campus.

Which independent pick and drop providers serve Multan?

SchoolNama's /pick-and-drop directory listed no Multan operator on 24 October 2026, so we cannot name one. Ask your child's campus whether it keeps a driver list, as The City School says its campuses do. Whoever you find, check the vehicle, the driver's papers, the seat count and the route yourself before agreeing.

What does school pick and drop cost in Multan?

We found no official tariff, no charge on any Multan school website we read, and no news report of a Multan school van fare, so we cannot give a reliable figure. Ask for quotes in writing, confirm whether each is for one trip or both and which months are billed, and compare them by road distance. For older pupils, the Multan electric bus launched in September 2026 is reported to be free for students, with a Rs 20 flat fare for other riders.

What safety features matter most in a Multan school van?

Start with what the rules and official orders cover: no CNG or LPG cylinder and a vehicle that has passed fitness and emissions checks. Then insist on no more children than seats, and ask for an adult attendant on both runs, a fixed seat with a working belt for each child, live location you can follow, and a named backup driver. We found no Multan rule that requires belts, GPS or attendants, so make them part of your agreement.

How can parents check whether a route fits their child?

Ask for the stop list and pickup order, your collection time, the arrival time at school, the number of children on board and the longest ride. Compare the afternoon run with your child's dismissal time, and do one trial run if you can. On SchoolNama, the /pick-and-drop search matches every stop on a listed route against your area and school as Multan operators join.

Do Punjab rules require private schools in Multan to provide buses?

ProPakistani reported in January 2025 that the Punjab School Education Department told all private schools to present plans to transport at least 50% of their students, following Lahore High Court orders, and Pakistan Today reported in April 2026 that implementation was virtually non-existent. We did not see the orders themselves or any Multan-specific notice, so ask your school what plan, if any, it has filed.
