School Fees in Bahawalpur: A First-Year Costing Guide with BISE Bahawalpur Dues and Punjab's Fee Rules

No Bahawalpur private school we checked on 13 October 2026 posts a current price list, so this guide prices the parts that are on the record, the board's dues and the legal limits, and gives parents a worksheet for the rest.

Short answer

On 13 October 2026 no Bahawalpur private school we checked published a current fee card, so we cannot set rupee bands. On record: BISE Bahawalpur's on-time 2026-28 registration fee was Rs 2,520 per private-school pupil for Class 9 or 11; Class 11's late rate is Rs 3,120 to 27 October 2026. A Punjab private school may ask at most a month's tuition as admission, and again as security.

How we researched this: On 13 October 2026 we opened the fee and document pages of Sadiq Public School's website, both Beaconhouse Bahawalpur branch pages, Allied Schools' fee-types page and its fee-structure link, and the Cantonment Board Bahawalpur's education pages; read BISE Bahawalpur notices 1171, 131, 132, 134 and the 7 August 2026 SSC Second Annual admission notice (No. 405), each reached through the board's own notices list; went through the fee clauses of the 1984 Punjab ordinance, two PEF question-and-answer pages and press reports from The News, The Nation and ProPakistani; and ran a script over SchoolNama's Bahawalpur listings. Numbers printed on aggregator websites were left out.

Put the question 'what does that school cost?' to a family in Bahawalpur and you will normally hear a single monthly figure. A child's first twelve months carry many more lines. There is a charge paid once on joining, a deposit that is meant to come back, tuition for however many months the school bills, any yearly fund, BISE Bahawalpur's dues in the Matric and intermediate classes, and then books, uniform and the daily journey. This guide works through each line, gives a rupee figure only where an official document supplies one, and says 'not published' where it does not. SchoolNama's Bahawalpur directory is at /bahawalpur, with area pages for Model Town A, Satellite Town and the Cantt at /bahawalpur/model-town-a, /bahawalpur/satellite-town and /bahawalpur/cantt.

Fee bands were the plan, and the evidence would not carry them. On 13 October 2026 Sadiq Public School's fees page was headed 'Fees & charges for the 2022-2023 school year', and the many PDF documents linked from it are handbooks, syllabuses, job descriptions and scholarship forms, not a newer fee schedule. On the same date, both Beaconhouse branch pages, at 12-A Yazman Road and in Model Town A, listed their programmes with no prices. When we checked on 13 October 2026, Allied Schools' fee-structure link returned a 404 error. On that date, the Cantonment Board's education page named its girls' high school and college in Model Town A and a girls' high school at Mauza Dera Izzat, but had no fee page. Web searches for other Bahawalpur schools turned up only aggregator listings, which give no source or session for their numbers, so we quote none of them. Not one of the 30 Bahawalpur records in SchoolNama's directory carries a fee entry. A rupee range for 'typical' Bahawalpur private schools would therefore be a guess.

That leaves two published price routes, and both are at the free end. PEF partner schools are private schools paid by the Punjab Education Foundation: PEF's FAS answers say that once a school signs its partnership it may not charge an enrolled pupil any fee in whatever form, naming admission charges, registration fees, stationery and model papers among the items, and they list selling books, uniforms or badges to pupils among the dealings that can bring penalties. Under the voucher scheme (EVS), PEF's answers extend that ban to card-holding pupils and say PEF supplies their Punjab textbooks without charge. For government schools, The Nation reported on 3 April 2026 that the province had begun handing out free textbooks in government schools for the new academic year, more than 30 million of them across Punjab. Neither route makes the Matric or intermediate board free, as the next sections show. Our guide to lower-cost options at /news/low-fee-schools-in-bahawalpur covers PEF, TCF and government schools in more depth.

For a private school, Punjab law fixes the shape of the bill even where the price is unpublished. Punjab's 1984 private-institutions ordinance, read here in the consolidated copy on the Higher Education Department's website, says in section 7A(8) that a pupil's admission charge, and likewise the security, can be no bigger than one month of tuition. Sub-section (9) stretches the word 'fee' well past tuition: lab and library money and any other sum a school takes from a child all count. Sub-section (10) stops a school from steering parents to one named seller for books, uniform or other material. So for a class billed at Rs M a month, a lawful entry bill under that section is at most M for admission plus M for security, before the first month's tuition.

The yearly increase is where the written law and the department's own statements differ. On paper, once a class is billed at Rs 4,000 or above monthly, this year's rate may sit no more than five percent over last year's, and a school that applies to the Registering Authority sixty or more days ahead of the new session can be granted as much as eight percent. The News reported in its 7 July 2020 edition that the education department had told the Lahore High Court it had amended its eight percent notification down to five percent to match a Supreme Court ruling of 2019. ProPakistani reported on 25 July 2026 that officials told the Punjab Assembly's school education committee that a private school's yearly rise may not pass 4% to 5%; the department added that the law lets it police rises but not fix a school's starting fee. Parents should therefore not assume eight percent is available, and should ask any school whose class fee rises by more than five percent to show the written approval.

What a chain school's bill can contain is visible on Allied Schools' national page about its types of fees, which gives the headings but no rupees. It describes an admission fee charged once and a separate admission processing fee, and says neither is refunded; an annual subscription billed when each session opens; a security deposit taken once and returned when the child leaves; tuition usually taken two months ahead on the challan; and a fine for paying late. SchoolNama lists Allied School Ahmad Campus in Model Town A at /schools/allied-school-ahmad-campus-bahawalpur. Sadiq Public School's dated page names a School Development Fund among its admission charges and lists what may be billed outside the termly fee, among them books and stationery, uniform and sports kit, and BISE and Cambridge exam fees. Because section 7A counts 'any other fee or amount' as fee, an annual subscription or fund is part of what a parent should add up when comparing two schools, not a footnote.

BISE Bahawalpur's charges are the most fully documented part of a Bahawalpur child's costs. The board's Class 9 intake for 2026-28 was set by five per-pupil charges in its notice 1171, dated 5 May 2026, which add up to Rs 2,520 on our sum: Rs 1,170 for registration, Rs 730 processing, Rs 300 towards the development fund, Rs 200 for sports and Rs 120 for scholarships. During the ordinary-rate window, pupils of government institutions were let off the registration and sports items, though their schools still had to send the other three, which comes to Rs 1,150 each on our sum. Notice 131, issued on 11 June 2026, stretched the ordinary-rate period to 22 June (it had opened on 25 April) and added a fortnight to 7 July 2026 at Rs 3,120 per head, the extra Rs 600 being the late charge; from 8 July no further Class 9 entries were allowed. A pupil who was admitted inside those dates but whose registration was never finished is billed Rs 3,120 and a further Rs 300 for each day, up to three days before the Class 9 First Annual Examination of 2027.

Class 11 runs to a later timetable. Notice 132 of 27 August 2026 set Rs 2,520 per candidate for the 2026-28 session, and revised notice 134, dated 12 October 2026, moved the dates: Rs 2,520 from 21 August to 12 October 2026, then Rs 3,120 with the Rs 600 late fee from 13 to 27 October 2026. Under notice 134, 27 October 2026 is the final date on which a college or higher secondary school may take a new Class 11 student in the board's area. Both notices are addressed to government and affiliated private colleges and higher secondary schools, and neither shows a separate government rate. Notice 132 also prices a move from one college or school to another within the board's area at Rs 3,095, or Rs 7,595 for what it calls local migration, a cost worth knowing before moving a child mid-course.

Sitting the exam is billed separately from registration. The most recent SSC exam-fee table on the board's notices page as of 13 October 2026 is the one in its 7 August 2026 notice for the Second Annual Examination 2026. For a regular candidate it lists Rs 720 per class for science or subjects with practicals, Rs 670 for arts, Rs 730 processing and Rs 300 development, plus a once-only certificate fee of Rs 930 in the Class 9 column; every candidate also pays Rs 95 for the QR code on the result card and certificate. By our addition, a regular Class 9 science candidate who had not paid the certificate fee before would owe Rs 2,775 at those rates. That notice also records a Punjab government decision letting regular candidates from public-sector institutions off both registration and examination fees, provided the form reached the board in the ordinary-fee window, while every candidate, public or private, still owes the Rs 95 QR charge. When we checked the notices page on 13 October 2026 it had no admission schedule for the 2027 annual examinations, so the 2027 rates and dates had not been published as of that date.

Books and uniform are the lines with the least public data. Section 7A means a private school cannot tie you to one shop, so ask for the book list with publishers and editions and price it yourself at two shops; a search on 13 October 2026 turned up no 2026-27 price list from the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, so this guide gives no book figure. Ask whether the school's own uniform must carry a logo, how many sets a child needs in summer and winter, and whether the list changes from one class to the next. At a PEF FAS partner school, PEF's FAS FAQ lists selling books or uniforms to pupils among dealings that can bring penalties or cancellation.

Transport can outweigh tuition, and it is the hardest line to check from outside. No Bahawalpur van or bus operator is on SchoolNama's books as of 13 October 2026, and the services shown at /pick-and-drop work in Islamabad and Rawalpindi only. Punjab's new registration rules, as ProPakistani described them on 4 May 2026, would make each private school disclose its fee structure and lay on transport for at least half its roll; we could not obtain the rules, so this is a press account only. Ask each school whether it runs its own buses or vans or relies on a contractor, the yearly cost to your street, and what happens in summer months and if you stop mid-year. Whoever drives, check the vehicle, the driver's licence, the seating and the pick-up routine against the points SchoolNama sets out at /news/how-to-choose-a-school-van-safety-checklist before the first trip.

To compare two schools fairly, put each one's numbers on the worksheet below rather than comparing monthly fees. Enter the joining charge and the deposit on two separate rows, and only drop the deposit from what you will actually spend once the school has promised its return on paper. Multiply tuition by the number of vouchers actually issued in a year, which may include summer months, and add every yearly fund. Then add the board's charges for the class, the book and uniform lists you priced yourself, and twelve months of transport. Once two or three schools remain, /compare lines up what SchoolNama holds on each, and our guide to the higher-fee end at /news/most-expensive-schools-in-bahawalpur explains how a boarding or Cambridge school's bill is built.

Checklist before you decide

  • ✓Ask for a fee card that names the 2026-27 session; treat an undated or older card as history, not this year's bill.
  • ✓Admission fee: check it is no more than one month's tuition for the class, and ask whether a separate processing or registration charge is added.
  • ✓Deposit: hold it against a month of the class's tuition, and have the school write down when and how it is repaid.
  • ✓Annual fund or subscription: ask for the amount, when it is billed and what it pays for.
  • ✓Tuition: ask how many vouchers are issued in a year, whether summer months are billed and whether two months are collected at once.
  • ✓Exam and board dues: ask whether BISE registration and exam fees appear on the school's voucher or are paid separately, and keep the board's receipt.
  • ✓Class 11 in 2026-28: the Rs 600 late window runs 13-27 October 2026, and BISE Bahawalpur allows no Class 11 admission after 27 October 2026.
  • ✓Books: get the full list with publishers and editions, price it at two shops, and remember the school cannot insist on one seller.
  • ✓Uniform: count the summer and winter sets your child needs and ask which items must carry the school logo.
  • ✓Transport: get a written yearly rate to your street, the rule for holidays, and who owns and insures the vehicle.
  • ✓Yearly rise: where a class already costs Rs 4,000 a month or more and this session's rate is over five percent higher, request the authority's approval letter.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a reliable price range for Bahawalpur private schools?

We cannot give honest rupee bands. When we checked on 13 October 2026, no Bahawalpur private school we looked at published a current fee card: Sadiq Public School's page is headed 2022-2023, Beaconhouse's branch pages show no prices and Allied's fee-structure link returned 404. The bands that can be stated are by who sets the price: PEF's FAS partner schools may not charge any enrolled pupil, and its EVS partners may not charge voucher-card holders; government schools hand out free textbooks; and private schools set their own fees within Punjab's section 7A rules.

Besides tuition, what will a school ask for in the first week?

Usually an admission fee and a security deposit, and sometimes a separate processing charge; Allied Schools' fee-types page lists all three. Punjab's 1984 ordinance, in section 7A(8), stops a private school asking for more than one month of tuition as its admission charge, and the same limit applies to its security. PEF's FAS answers bar partner schools from charging any enrolled pupil admission or registration fees, and its EVS answers bar the same for voucher-card holders.

Do books and uniform push the first-year total up by much?

No official price list was available for us to quote, so we give no figure. Ask for the full book list with editions and the uniform list for both seasons, and price them yourself. Under section 7A(10) you are free to shop wherever you like for both. Government schools hand out textbooks free, as The Nation reported on 3 April 2026, and PEF says Punjab textbooks are free for EVS voucher holders.

How much difference does the school run make to the annual bill?

Potentially a great deal. SchoolNama had no Bahawalpur pick-and-drop operator listed as of 13 October 2026, and none of the official school pages we read gave a transport price. Get a written yearly rate to your street, with the terms for summer months and for stopping mid-year, and add twelve months of it to your total.

How do I line up two Bahawalpur schools on a like-for-like annual figure?

Use the worksheet in this guide. On one sheet per school, enter the joining charge, the deposit, each yearly fund, tuition times the vouchers actually issued, the board's dues for that class, then books, uniform and transport. A deposit belongs outside the spending total only when the school has put its return in writing. Judge the schools on those two yearly totals rather than on their monthly rates.

What does BISE Bahawalpur charge for Class 9 and Class 11 registration?

For the 2026-28 session the on-time rate was Rs 2,520 per pupil for both classes, and both on-time windows had closed by 13 October 2026. For Class 9 a government-school pupil paid Rs 1,150 in the on-time window because the registration and sports fees were waived, and the last Class 9 window, at the Rs 3,120 late rate, closed on 7 July 2026. For Class 11, notice 134 of 12 October 2026 sets Rs 3,120 from 13 to 27 October 2026 and allows no Class 11 admission after 27 October 2026.

Is an 8 percent yearly rise allowed for Bahawalpur private schools?

Do not assume it is available. Eight percent survives in the ordinance's text as the most a Registering Authority may approve. But the department said in court in 2020 that its eight percent notification had been corrected to five percent, and ProPakistani's July 2026 report has officials telling Punjab legislators the yearly limit is 4% to 5%. Should a Rs 4,000-plus class jump by more than five percent, the school owes you a sight of the approval.
