School Admissions in Multan: When to Apply, Documents, Tests and Open Days

Admissions in Multan run on several calendars at once. Punjab's government schools follow a provincial session, private networks set their own timing, and boarding and cadet colleges that test in Multan work many months ahead. On 4 November 2026 SchoolNama held 170 Multan campus records, and none of them carries an admission date we have confirmed with the school; every one tells parents to contact the campus or call the school. SchoolNama's events file holds no Multan open day, and the only notices in its file that mention Multan are board exam notices, not school admissions. Every date below comes instead from a school page or report we opened on 4 November 2026.

When should parents apply? It depends on the school. The most urgent dates we found belong to two boys' cadet colleges that list Multan as a test centre. Cadet College Okara's admission notice for Class Pre-9th and IGCSE O Level for 2027 gives an extended last date of Monday 9 November 2026 and an entrance test on Saturday 14 November 2026, with Multan among its ten test centres. Cadet College Hasanabdal's Class 8 (O Level) admission page gives a last date to apply of 4 December 2026 and an entry test on 27 December 2026, again with Multan listed as a centre. Both colleges accept online applications only.

For day schools inside the city, OPF Public School Multan, on Vehari Road, publishes a fixed yearly cycle: its admission procedure page says registration opens in January for all classes up to Grade 10, written entrance tests are held in February and the session starts in April. The page gives no year, so confirm the 2027 dates with the school office. Punjab's government schools work to a similar spring start: Daily Pakistan reported on 17 January 2026 that the province's new academic year would begin on 1 April 2026, with free textbooks for newly admitted pupils in government schools from 5 April. We found no published 2027 admission schedule for Multan's government schools.

Government schools were also told to recruit. ProPakistani reported on 13 March 2026 that Punjab's education officials announced an admissions campaign for the 2026-27 session with a minimum target of a seven percent rise in enrolment, with teachers given admission targets and banners and brochures at school gates. For schools licensed by the Punjab Education Foundation, ProPakistani reported on 13 May 2026 that the foundation extended the deadline for new 2026-27 admissions, allowing licensed schools to complete enrolment until 14 May. Both reports cover Punjab as a whole, so treat them as a guide to timing rather than a Multan notice.

Which Multan schools have admissions open? Apart from the cadet colleges, the clearest position we found is The City School's. Its admissions page says registrations are open throughout the year, though registering does not guarantee a seat, and its Multan campus page lists a campus on the Northern Bypass near Wapda Town Phase 2 offering classes from PG to A Level and Matric. Beaconhouse's branch pages for Beaconhouse Newlands Multan (Early Years Programme) and the Officers Colony Senior Campus, both in Officers Colony on Khanewal Road, show no admission dates and point to an online admissions portal that returned a server error when we tried it. We found no official 2027-28 admission notice for Army Public School Multan, and no official page for a Divisional Public School campus in Multan, so ask those schools directly.

Families willing to board a child outside Multan can also look at Aitchison College in Lahore, which lists boarding places at K1, K3 to K6, M1 (Grade 8) and M2 (Grade 9), and both day and boarding places at K2 and E2 (Grade 7), for 2027-28. Its important-dates table says boarding applications close on 31 December 2026, and day applications on 30 November 2026, with the entrance test for all age groups in the first week of June 2027 and school starting in August 2027.

Are tests and interviews common? Yes. Every school whose page described a process used a test, an interview or both. OPF Public School Multan says admission is granted strictly on merit through a written test in English, Mathematics and Urdu, set on the curriculum of the grade below the one applied for. The City School assesses Playgroup and Kindergarten children on reading level, vocabulary, colours and numbers, along with confidence, spoken English and motor skills; from Class I it sets a 30-minute written test in English, Urdu and Mathematics with a 50 percent pass mark, and it schedules interviews with both parents. Beaconhouse's registration-process page says parents are given a test or interview time once the child is registered, and its admission-criteria page says a fee voucher is issued once the child has cleared both. Cadet College Hasanabdal sets a three-hour written test in Mathematics, English with Islamiat, and Urdu with General Science, while Cadet College Okara tests Mathematics, English, Islamic Studies, Urdu and General Science, then shortlists for interviews, medical examinations and physical fitness tests. Aitchison College says applicants sit competitive admission tests, and an interview if required. For preparation, see /news/school-admission-test-preparation.

Cadet colleges set firm age windows. Cadet College Okara asks for candidates aged 12 to 14 by 1 April 2027 who have passed Class 7 or equivalent by April 2027, with up to three months' age relaxation under its rules and six months more on the upper limit for Hafiz-e-Quran. Cadet College Hasanabdal says a candidate must not be under 12 or over 14 on 1 August of the year of entry, with no relaxation. Aitchison College says its age criteria are strictly observed with no waivers. For day schools, OPF Public School Multan asks for children aged 3+ for Pre-Nursery and 6+ for Class 1. Other schools set their own rules, so check each one; /news/class-1-admission-age-pakistan explains how cut-offs work, and /news/best-time-to-apply-school-admission-pakistan covers timing more broadly.

Board registration is a separate step for older children. ProPakistani reported on 9 June 2026 that all Punjab boards extended Class 9 registration for the 2026-2028 session: forms without a late fee from 25 April to 22 June 2026, and with a Rs 600 late fee per student from 23 June to 7 July 2026. If your child is joining a new Multan school in Class 9, ask whether the board registration has been done.

What documents will you need? Every school we read that lists documents asks for the child's NADRA B-Form or birth certificate; some also want photographs and the last school's records. The City School asks for two passport-size photographs, an attested copy of the birth certificate and, for transfers, the last report card plus copies of the provisional and character certificates. OPF Public School Multan uses an admission form from its school office, asks for an attested NADRA B-Form, a foreign birth certificate or a passport copy for new Pre-Nursery admissions, and a school leaving certificate once admission is confirmed. Cadet College Hasanabdal requires an attested copy of the NADRA Form B and a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 7,000 plus Rs 58 bank charges; Cadet College Okara asks for a scanned photo and NADRA B-Form with its online application and a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 3,550. Our wider checklist is at /news/school-admission-documents-pakistan.

Where can parents find open days? We found no dated open day for the 2027-28 intake on any Multan school page we read on 4 November 2026, and SchoolNama's events file holds none for the city. The City School's admissions page links to a tour-booking page; for other schools, ask the campus for a visit, ideally before its registration window opens.

Because seats are limited at many schools, apply to more than one and keep every deadline and test date in one calendar. Build a shortlist on the Multan city page (/multan), compare costs in /news/school-fees-in-multan and /news/low-fee-schools-in-multan, check the commute with /news/schools-with-transport-in-multan, and see /news/best-schools-in-multan, /news/best-o-level-schools-in-multan or /news/best-matric-schools-in-multan for a wider view. You can also line schools up side by side with /compare, or read how another Punjab city works in /news/school-admissions-in-lahore. Then confirm dates with each school directly, since most Multan schools we read had not published a 2027-28 deadline.
