School Admissions in Faisalabad: When to Apply, Documents, Tests and Open Days
Few Faisalabad schools publish admission dates online. The clearest dated windows we found were for boarding colleges that test in Faisalabad, while The City School registers all year. We read official school pages and reports on 4 November 2026 to separate confirmed dates from general patterns.
Short answer
Most Faisalabad schools we checked had not published 2027-28 dates on 4 November 2026, so contact them now. The clearest open window with a Faisalabad test centre is boys-only Cadet College Hasanabdal's Class 8 (O Level) entry: apply by 4 December 2026, test on 27 December. The City School registers year-round. Every school page we read that described a process set a test, an interview or both.
How we researched this: On 4 November 2026 we read Cadet College Hasanabdal's Class 8 (O Level) admission page; PAF College Lower Topa's admission schedule for its 2027 selection; Cadet College Faisalabad's website and online admission page; The City School's admissions page; Beaconhouse's two Peoples Colony branch pages in Faisalabad; the University of Agriculture Faisalabad's Laboratory Schools page; the Punjab Education Foundation's Education Voucher Scheme and Foundation Assisted Schools FAQ pages; Daily Pakistan's 17 January 2026 report on Punjab's 2026 academic year; Aaj English's 15 January 2025 report on Punjab's admission policy; and ProPakistani's reports of 13 March, 13 May, 9 June and 13 October 2026. Divisional Public School & College's website showed no admission information; Beaconhouse's online admissions portal returned a server error, so none of these is used for dates. We counted SchoolNama's Faisalabad campus records, events and notices with a script on the same date.
Admissions in Faisalabad do not follow one calendar. Punjab's government schools work to a provincial session, private networks set their own timing, and some boarding colleges that hold entry tests in Faisalabad close their applications months before term begins. On 4 November 2026 SchoolNama held 151 Faisalabad campus records, and none of them carries an admission date we have confirmed with the school; every one tells parents to contact the campus or call the school. SchoolNama's events file holds no Faisalabad open day, and its notices file holds no Faisalabad school admission notice. Every date below comes instead from a school page or report we opened on 4 November 2026.
Which schools have admissions open? The clearest dated window with a Faisalabad connection belongs to Cadet College Hasanabdal, a boys' boarding college outside the city that lists Faisalabad among its written-test centres. Its Class 8 (O Level) admission page gives a last date to apply of 4 December 2026 and an entry test on 27 December 2026. Applications are online only, and the non-refundable registration fee is Rs 7,000 plus Rs 58 in bank charges. The college says a candidate must be between 12 and 14 years old on 1 August of the year of entry, with no relaxation of the age limit.
Within the city, Cadet College Faisalabad on Jasoana Road takes applications through an online admission form, which its site says is processed within 48 hours, and its site has an entry-test lookup that asks for the child's B-Form or CNIC. We found no dated 2027 schedule on its website or noticeboard, so call the college before relying on any date you see elsewhere. The City School's admissions page says registrations are open throughout the year, though registering does not guarantee a seat, and it lists Faisalabad among the cities where it offers A Level. It places children by age on 31 July for sessions starting in August, or on 28 February for sessions starting in March or April.
Other well-known Faisalabad schools had nothing dated online. Beaconhouse's pages for its Junior Campus and Senior Campus, both on Jaranwala Road in Peoples Colony, list their programmes and a contact number but no admission dates, and link to an online admissions portal that did not load when we tried it. The University of Agriculture Faisalabad's page on its Laboratory Schools describes five campuses teaching up to intermediate level, including a junior school from Play Group to Fifth Standard in English medium, but gives no admission process or dates. Divisional Public School & College's website showed no admission information. For all of these, ask the school office directly for the 2027-28 schedule.
When should parents apply? Earlier than many families expect, especially for boarding and cadet colleges. PAF College Lower Topa, which takes boys only, shows with its 2027 selection schedule how far ahead these run: online registration ran from 8 September to 4 October 2026, entrance tests, a preliminary medical and an initial interview from 8 to 19 October 2026, a final board interview in November 2026 and a final medical in December 2026, with reporting tentatively on 20 April 2027. Faisalabad is listed as a centre for its test and board interview, but registration for that intake has closed. Its age rule for that intake is at least 11 years 6 months and no more than 13 years 6 months on 1 January 2027.
Punjab's government schools work to a different year. Daily Pakistan reported on 17 January 2026 that the province's new academic year would begin on 1 April 2026, with free textbooks for newly admitted pupils in government schools from 5 April. For the year before, Aaj English reported on 15 January 2025 that Punjab's admission policy opened government-school admissions in two phases, from 1 April to 31 May for Classes I and II and from 15 August to 31 October for further intakes, and that a private schools' association said private-school admissions would begin on 1 February. That is a past pattern, not a 2027 schedule, and we found no published 2027 admission schedule for Faisalabad's government schools. ProPakistani also reported on 13 March 2026 that Punjab's education officials announced an admissions campaign for the 2026-27 session with a minimum target of a seven percent rise in enrolment.
Families looking for free schooling have a separate route. The Punjab Education Foundation's Education Voucher Scheme FAQ says the scheme now covers all 36 districts of Punjab and that schools may not charge voucher-holders any fee, including admission or registration fees. Parents cannot apply for a voucher directly: cards are issued after nomination by a partner school or a household survey, then parents choose any partner school. The foundation's FAQ for Foundation Assisted Schools says those schools may not charge enrolled students any fee and must display a PEF board on the main gate, which is one way to spot one nearby. ProPakistani reported on 13 May 2026 that the foundation gave its licensed schools until 14 May to complete new enrolment for 2026-27, so ask early in the year.
For children from deserving families, ProPakistani reported on 13 October 2026 that the Punjab Daanish Schools had announced Class 6 admissions for 2027, open to children who have completed Class 5, with age limits of 10 to 12 for boys and 10 to 13 for girls. The report said 90 percent of places are reserved for deserving students and 10 percent are self-finance at Rs 20,500 a month. It gave no application deadline or campus list, and we did not confirm a campus in Faisalabad, so check with the authority before applying.
Are tests and interviews common? Yes. Every school whose page described a process used a test, an interview or both. Cadet College Hasanabdal sets a three-hour written test in Mathematics, English with Islamiat, and Urdu with General Science, then calls candidates who qualify on merit for an interview and medical examination at the college. The City School assesses Playgroup and Kindergarten children on reading level, vocabulary, colours and numbers, along with confidence, spoken English and motor skills; from Class I it sets a 30-minute test in English, Urdu and Mathematics with a 50 percent pass mark, and it schedules interviews with both parents. ProPakistani reported that the Daanish Schools' Class 6 test carries 100 marks across English, Mathematics, General Science, Urdu and IQ. For preparation, see /news/school-admission-test-preparation, and for age cut-offs see /news/class-1-admission-age-pakistan.
Board registration is a separate step for older children. ProPakistani reported on 9 June 2026 that all educational boards across Punjab extended Class 9 registration for the 2026-2028 session: forms without a late fee from 25 April to 22 June 2026, and with a Rs 600 late fee per student from 23 June to 7 July 2026. Schools usually handle this, but if your child is joining a new school in Class 9, ask whether the board registration has been done.
What documents will you need? The schools that listed documents asked for the child's B-Form or birth certificate, and some also for photographs and the last school's records. The City School asks for two passport-size photographs, an attested copy of the birth certificate and, for transfers, the last report card plus copies of the provisional and character certificates. Cadet College Hasanabdal asks for an attested copy of the child's NADRA Form-B with the online application. ProPakistani's report on the Daanish Schools listed four passport-size photographs, the Class 5 result card, a copy of the father's CNIC and the birth certificate or B-Form. The PEF voucher FAQ says students are verified with NADRA against their B-Forms, so a B-Form matters for free places too. Our wider checklist is at /news/school-admission-documents-pakistan.
Where can parents find open days? We found no dated open day for the 2027-28 intake on any Faisalabad school page we read on 4 November 2026, and SchoolNama's events file holds none for the city. The City School's admissions page links to a tour-booking page; for other schools, ask for a visit directly, ideally before the school's registration deadline.
Because seats are limited at many schools, apply to more than one and keep every deadline and test date in one calendar. Build a shortlist on the Faisalabad city page (/faisalabad), compare costs in /news/school-fees-in-faisalabad and /news/low-fee-schools-in-faisalabad, check the commute with /news/schools-with-transport-in-faisalabad, and see /news/best-schools-in-faisalabad or /news/best-matric-schools-in-faisalabad for a wider view. /news/best-time-to-apply-school-admission-pakistan covers timing more broadly, and /news/school-admissions-in-lahore shows how Lahore's schools compare. Then confirm dates with each school directly, since most Faisalabad schools we read had not published a 2027-28 deadline.
