Premium and High-Fee Schools in Lahore: Published Fees, Hidden Extras and What the Money Buys
Only a handful of Lahore's high-fee schools put their fees online. We gathered the four schedules we could trace to the schools themselves, set out what each one covers and leaves out, and explain the Punjab rules that limit how fast premium fees can rise.
Short answer
Four Lahore schools publish fee schedules we could verify: Aitchison College (Rs 74,500 to Rs 103,200 a month in tuition for 2026-27), LGS International (Rs 58,810 to Rs 84,945 a month, 2025-26 sheet), SICAS and the dollar-priced Lahore American School. Big names such as Beaconhouse, LACAS and The City School put no tuition figures online; get their schedule on paper.
How we researched this: On 2 October 2026 we opened the fee pages of Aitchison College, Lahore Grammar School International, SICAS and Lahore American School, and searched the official websites of Beaconhouse, The City School, LACAS, Lahore Grammar School, Bloomfield Hall, Crescent Model School, the Convent of Jesus and Mary and Headstart for fee amounts. For the legal limits we went to Punjab's 1984 private-schools ordinance as consolidated by the Higher Education Department, two Dawn stories from 2019 on the Supreme Court fee case and four ProPakistani stories on Punjab fee notices and rules. Every amount below comes from the school or regulator named beside it; none was taken from a listings site, and the order of schools is not a ranking.
Lists of Lahore's most expensive schools usually print one confident monthly number per school, and almost none of those numbers can be traced to the school. We did the opposite. We looked for fee schedules that the schools themselves publish and found four: Aitchison College, Lahore Grammar School International (LGSi), SICAS and Lahore American School (LAS). Their sheets differ in year, currency and billing period, so read each figure with its label. Several well-known names that parents think of as premium, including Beaconhouse, LACAS, The City School and the main Lahore Grammar School campuses, publish no tuition amounts on their websites, so we cannot place them in a fee band. A higher fee is not proof of better teaching, and nothing here is a ranking.
Aitchison College has already posted its 2026-27 schedule. Monthly tuition is Rs 74,500 for the K1 to K5 classes, Rs 81,500 for K6, E2 and M1, Rs 90,200 for classes 9 and 10 and for M2, C1 and C2, and Rs 103,200 for FSc and the H1 and H2 (A Level) years. Boarders add a monthly boarding charge of Rs 78,900 to Rs 94,200 depending on the class. One-off charges are heavy: an admission fee of Rs 175,000 under the line marked 'Govt.' or Rs 350,000 under 'Non-Govt.', a refundable security deposit of Rs 100,000, and an application fee of Rs 60,000 for day applicants or Rs 30,000 for boarders. Optional monthly extras include transport at Rs 22,000, riding or arena polo at Rs 16,500 and marksmanship at Rs 8,250. The page adds that the Board revises fees and charges every year. For a new day boy under the non-government line, admission, security and application fees come to Rs 510,000 before any tuition.
What does Aitchison's fee pay for? The school describes a campus of almost 200 acres in central Lahore, with boarding houses, a hospital, laboratories, libraries, an equestrian centre, playing fields, a squash complex and a diving pool. It admits boys only, teaches the Cambridge curriculum in its junior and prep schools, and adds FBISE Matric and FSc alongside IGCSE and A Levels in the senior school. Sport is compulsory, the senior school lists more than 20 clubs and societies, and the school says it can board up to 500 boys from outside Lahore in each of its three schools. Entry is by competitive test at fixed points, and boys who have studied in Lahore for more than six months cannot apply for a boarding place. For the 2027-28 intake, the school says application forms become available in the first week of October 2026, with deadlines of 30 November 2026 for day places and 31 December 2026 for boarding, and tests in the first week of June 2027.
LGS International in DHA Phase 8 is an International Baccalaureate continuum school, set up in 2014 and authorised for the IB continuum in 2017, and its site lists the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes. Its fee page is still headed 2025-26, which means the current session's rates may be higher. On that sheet the per-month fee runs from Rs 58,810 for playgroup to KG, through Rs 64,035 for Grades 1 to 5, Rs 66,650 for Grades 6 to 8, Rs 70,570 for Grade 9 and Rs 75,800 for Grade 10, to Rs 81,025 and Rs 84,945 for the two Diploma years. A new pupil also pays an admission fee of Rs 100,000, a refundable security of Rs 85,000 and registration of Rs 15,000, or Rs 20,000 in the Diploma years, which the sheet totals at Rs 200,000 or Rs 205,000. The sheet also has a line for two months of regular fee, so ask how often you will be billed.
SICAS publishes separate 2025-26 sheets for its Liberty, Girls and Johar Town campuses, and it quotes an annual fee with an implied monthly figure. At Liberty and the Girls campus the annual fee is Rs 442,320 from playgroup to Grade VIII, about Rs 36,860 a month, rising to Rs 494,040 in the first O Level year. Liberty's A Level 1 line is Rs 653,520, about Rs 54,460 a month. Johar Town is dearer in the early years, at Rs 673,200 a year for toddlers to nursery, and charges Rs 661,440 for the first O Level year. Registration is Rs 10,000 everywhere; admission is Rs 35,000 at Liberty and Girls and Rs 55,000 to Rs 80,000 at Johar Town, plus a refundable security of Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000. The fee is billed in four instalments. SICAS says it covers tuition, utilities and amenities, while books and stationery, external exams, annual events, field trips, co-curricular activities and sports clubs are billed separately. Like LGSi's, these sheets carry the 2025-26 label, so the session now under way may cost more. We found no sheet for its DHA campus.
Lahore American School on Canal Bank prices in US dollars. Its 2026-27 page gives annual tuition of $4,208 for preschool, $7,244 for pre-KG, $13,088 for kindergarten, $13,481 for Grade 1, $15,068 for Grades 2 to 5, $15,213 for Grades 6 to 8 and $16,014 for Grades 9 to 12. On top come a $150 admission test, a registration fee of $1,500 (KG to Grade 5) or $2,500 (Grade 6 and up), an activity fee of $315 per family and a facility development fee of $1,000 per family; the page does not say how often those family fees recur. Children in preschool and pre-KG are exempt from registration, which falls due once when they move up to kindergarten. The school's 2026 high school profile describes an American, Advanced Placement programme, accreditation by the Middle States Association since 1984, about 380 students from preschool to Grade 12 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 6 to 1. Ask the finance office which currency it invoices in: if the bill is raised in dollars, the rupee amount is only settled on the day you pay it, so ask which rate it converts at too.
For everyone else, the honest answer is that we do not know. Beaconhouse's main website shows no fee amounts. LACAS's site has a fee-bill login but no schedule. The City School explains its entry test online but quotes no money. The Lahore Grammar School site for its 55 Main, 30 Main and 31 FCC branches in Gulberg publishes only a 2026-27 registration fee of Rs 5,000. Bloomfield Hall publishes no tuition figure at all, only its payment timetable and its penalties: Rs 100 for a replacement fee card, Rs 1,000 if a cheque bounces, 5% of the bill for paying late, and a rejoining fee of half the admission fee if an admission lapses. Crescent Model School, the Convent of Jesus and Mary and Headstart gave us nothing either: their own sites carry no schedule we could find. We left these schools out of the fee comparison rather than guess.
Punjab law limits how fast these fees can rise. Punjab's 1984 ordinance, in section 7A, sets a threshold of Rs 4,000 a month; a school charging that much or more may lift a class's fee by no more than 5% on the year before. A school that wants more must apply to the registering authority at least 60 days before the new session, and the authority can allow up to 8%. Two further clauses in the same section matter to premium families: every other amount the school collects, from lab and library charges upward, counts as 'fee', and parents cannot be made to buy books or uniform from a named supplier. Every private school on the published sheets above charges far more than Rs 4,000, so on the ordinance's own terms the cap would apply to them. The ordinance covers privately managed schools and excludes bodies run or controlled by government, and we did not establish which fee rules apply to Aitchison, which says its own Board sets its fees. The rule is still the working limit: ProPakistani reported in July 2026 that School Education Department officials told a Punjab Assembly committee they cannot set private-school fees and can only police the yearly increase.
A third sub-section, 7A(8), is worth reading word for word: "The admission fee or the security shall not exceed the amount equal to the tuition fee payable by the student for a month." Before you pay, line up each one-off charge on the school's sheet against a single month of its tuition, and if the school quotes tuition by the year, divide that figure by twelve first. Where the admission fee or the deposit comes out higher, write to the school, ask how it applies 7A(8) and whether the registering authority has approved the charge, and keep its answer on file. The courts have weighed in before. In June 2019 Dawn reported that the Supreme Court had kept yearly tuition rises at 5% and withdrawn its 2018 order cutting fees by 20%, and in September 2019 that the detailed verdict struck down rises made since 2017, had fees recalculated from a January 2017 base under regulators' supervision, and called for complaint cells. In July 2025 ProPakistani reported a Lahore District Education Authority notice limiting yearly rises to 5% and barring schools from collecting more than one month's fee at a time. We could not find anything confirming that this notice still governs the 2026-27 session, so if your school asks for more than one month's fee in a single bill, ask the school in writing whether it believes the notice applies this year.
More rules are coming. Punjab's registration rules revised in May 2026, as ProPakistani described them, oblige a private school to make its fee structure public, reserve one in ten places for children from poorer homes and run transport for no fewer than half of its pupils. On 28 September 2026 it reported a proposal, still awaiting approval, under which a school charging more than Rs 20,000 a month would pay Rs 1 million to register for four years. All four schools whose fee sheets we found sit above Rs 20,000 a month, including the Lahore American School's dollar lines at any recent exchange rate, so any of them covered by Punjab's private-school registration would fall in that top bracket if the proposal goes through.
Is the extra cost worth it for your child? The published sheets show what the money pays for: very large campuses and boarding at Aitchison, an IB continuum at LGSi, a US curriculum with AP courses and a low student-to-faculty ratio at LAS. They also show what it does not: SICAS bills exams, books, trips and clubs on top, Aitchison's riding, marksmanship and transport are extra, and LAS adds family fees. A child who will sit Matric or FSc and apply to Pakistani universities may not need a dollar-priced American diploma or an IB programme, while a family planning study abroad may weigh them differently. Compare the curriculum, the commute and the full first-year cost before the brand.
SchoolNama lists 452 Lahore campuses on its Lahore page (/lahore), including profiles for Aitchison College (/schools/aitchison-college-lahore), LGS International (/schools/lgs-international-lahore) and Lahore American School (/schools/lahore-american-school-lahore). None of our Lahore profiles carries a school-verified fee yet, and our pick-and-drop directory (/pick-and-drop) has no Lahore providers listed, so ask each school about its own transport. If you are weighing curricula, /news/ib-vs-cambridge-pakistan explains the difference, /news/lgs-vs-beaconhouse compares two large networks, and /news/low-fee-schools-in-lahore covers the other end of the market.

Checklist before you decide
- ✓Ask for the school's fee schedule for the current session in writing, with every one-off and recurring charge.
- ✓Check the year printed on any fee sheet; a sheet headed 2025-26 is not this year's rate.
- ✓Add up the first-year cost: admission, security, registration, application or test fees, tuition and any family fees.
- ✓Ask which items sit outside tuition: books, uniform, external exam entries, trips, clubs, transport and boarding.
- ✓For dollar-priced fees, ask which currency you will be invoiced in and which exchange rate applies.
- ✓Find out whether bills come monthly, quarterly or yearly, and what each one includes.
- ✓Ask how much the fee rose last year and whether the school applied to the registering authority for any rise above 5%.
- ✓Ask how refundable security is returned and how long that takes.
- ✓Set the admission fee and the security deposit beside one month of tuition (annual tuition divided by twelve if billed yearly); Punjab's ordinance says neither should be larger, so ask in writing about any charge that is.
- ✓Visit the campus and compare the curriculum and commute before the brand name.
Frequently asked questions
Which schools are in Lahore's premium fee band?
Among schools that publish their own fee schedules, Aitchison College, LGS International, SICAS and Lahore American School all charge well above Rs 4,000 a month. Their sheets use different years and currencies, so we do not rank them. Beaconhouse, LACAS, The City School and the main LGS campuses do not publish tuition amounts online.
What is included in the fee at these schools?
It varies. SICAS says its fee covers tuition, utilities and amenities only. Aitchison lists boarding, transport, riding and marksmanship as separate charges. Lahore American School adds activity and facility development fees per family. Get the school to write down which services the tuition line pays for.
What charges come on top of the tuition line?
Expect one-off admission, security and registration or application fees, which on the rupee sheets we found run from Rs 5,000 to Rs 350,000 per item. Books, stationery, external exams, trips, clubs, transport and boarding are often billed separately.
Can a premium school raise its fee as much as it likes?
Not if it is a privately managed school under Punjab law. Once a class's tuition reaches Rs 4,000 monthly, the 1984 ordinance lets it grow by 5% a year at most. Going to 8% needs the registering authority's consent, applied for at least 60 days before the new session. We could not establish whether these rules cover Aitchison College.
Is a premium school worth the extra cost for every child?
No. The extra money buys specific things, such as boarding, large campuses, an IB or American curriculum, or small classes. If your child will take Matric or FSc and apply to Pakistani universities, those features may matter less than a good school closer to home.
Does SchoolNama show fees for these schools?
Not yet. Our Lahore profiles do not carry school-verified fees, so use the schools' own published schedules and ask for the current session's sheet.
