High-Fee Schools in Bahawalpur: What the Extra Cost Should Buy, and What to Ask First
No Bahawalpur school we checked publishes a current fee schedule, so nobody can honestly rank the city's most expensive schools. What can be checked is how a premium school bills, what sits outside its headline fee, and what it says it provides for the money.
Short answer
On 5 October 2026 we found no current, published fee schedule for any Bahawalpur school we checked, so we name no premium tier. Sadiq Public School's fee page is still headed 2022-2023, and the two Beaconhouse branch pages list programmes but no fees. Ask any high-fee school for this year's written schedule, every extra charge, and evidence of the facilities and counselling it promises.
How we researched this: On 5 October 2026 we read Sadiq Public School's fee, admission, boarding, sports, extracurricular, counselling, scholarship and results pages, both Beaconhouse Bahawalpur branch pages, The City School's Bahawalpur campus page, Allied Schools' fee-types page, Punjab's 1984 private-schools ordinance, two September 2026 news reports on proposed registration fees, a tax explainer and Wikipedia's Sadiq Public School entry, and counted SchoolNama's Bahawalpur listings by script. Fee aggregator sites were not used as evidence. Nothing is ranked.
Typing 'most expensive schools in Bahawalpur' into a search bar hides two questions: who charges the most, and what a family gets back for paying it. We could not answer the first one honestly. On 5 October 2026 we looked for a current fee schedule on Sadiq Public School's website and on the pages of Beaconhouse's two Bahawalpur branches and found none, and The City School's Bahawalpur campus page lists classes from playgroup to Matric, F.Sc., O and A Level but no fees. Several aggregator sites print monthly ranges for Bahawalpur schools, but they do not say where the numbers came from or which year they belong to, so we treat them as unverified and quote none of them. SchoolNama's own 30 Bahawalpur listings carry no fee records either. What follows is therefore not a price ranking. It is a guide to reading a high-fee school's bill, using the documents schools actually publish, and to checking what the school says the money pays for.
Sadiq Public School is the clearest case, because it publishes more about how it charges than any other school we checked. Its fee page is headed 'Fees & charges for the 2022-2023 school year' and adds that fees are subject to change without notice. The tables for day pupils and boarders are not readable as text on the page, so we do not quote tuition or boarding amounts. The written rules on the page are still useful. Tuition, boarding and fund charges are billed as three equal termly instalments in advance, and the school says fees are due within 10 days of the start of each term. A separate one-time charge at admission covers an admission fee, a refundable security deposit and a School Development Fund. The page states that all charges will rise by about 10 percent a year and may also rise during a year if inflation requires. Because the page is three sessions old, ask the school's accounts office for the current schedule before planning a budget.
The same page lists what sits outside the termly bill, which is the part parents most often underestimate. It names uniform and sports kit, footwear, books and stationery, medical treatment inside and outside the school hospital, boarders' pocket money and travel, BISE Bahawalpur registration and exam fees, Cambridge (CAIE) fees and any other miscellaneous charge the Principal decides. For boarders, the 2022-2023 version listed air-conditioning as its own yearly charge of Rs 48,200; treat that as a historical figure, not a current price. A Progressive School Levy of Rs 1,500 a term was approved by the Board of Governors, the page says, but deferred until the Covid-19 situation had passed. Late payment is expensive: the page describes an administration fee from the first overdue day, a penalty of KIBOR plus 3 percent on the unpaid balance, and suspension of the pupil after a month.
Two lines on Sadiq's fee page show why an old schedule should not be trusted. One says advance withholding tax of 5 percent will be added under section 236-I of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001. A tax explainer published in July 2022 reports that the Finance Act 2022 removed section 236-I, so that line appears to date from before the change; ask whether any tax is added to your bill today. Another line says the school cannot offer scholarships or fee concessions, yet the same website runs a BEEF scholarship, which it describes as fully funded, covering academic and boarding costs, for selected students from Balochistan through the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund, and an SPS Scholarship Programme with its own application form. Ask which of these applies to your child before you assume full fees.
What does the money pay for at Sadiq? The school's own pages describe seven boarding houses for more than 500 boys and girls, each with a resident housemaster or housemistress, an assistant and a full-time superintendent or matron; four meals a day for boarders; and round-the-clock medical care from an onsite Senior Medical Officer and the school hospital. Its sports page lists fourteen activities, among them horse-riding, swimming and squash, each offered subject to sufficient demand; pupils from Class 4 upward play on at least two afternoons a week, and the page describes a shade cover over the swimming pool and indoor sports that can be air-conditioned. Wikipedia describes a campus of about 451 acres and roughly 2,000 pupils. On curriculum, the site's menus offer A Level and F.A. or F.Sc. subject combinations, a CAIE fee voucher and an admissions notice for AS Level and F.Sc., so both Cambridge and board routes run to Class 12. These are the school's descriptions, not an inspection, so ask to see the boarding house, the medical centre and the sports timetable for your child's class during a visit.
University counselling is a common selling point for high-fee schools, and Sadiq is specific about it. Its counselling department names four counsellors and says it helps the final two year groups with college searches in Pakistan and abroad, personal statements, CVs, reference letters and interview practice, and that the planning begins as early as grade 8. If counselling is part of the reason you are paying more, ask how many students each counsellor supports, how early your child would get a one-to-one session, and where the last two leaving classes went. Sadiq's external results page shows Cambridge and BISE headings but no figures we could read, so ask for recent results in writing as well.
Admission at Sadiq is selective, which matters as much as price. Its admission policy describes a written test in English, Mathematics and Urdu for most classes (not K0 to K2), each paper worth 25 marks and lasting 30 minutes, followed by an interview for candidates who score at least 50 percent in every subject. Parents must also sign a code of conduct and the child must be cleared medically. An admission testing schedule for 2026-27 is listed on the site, but its dates were published as images we could not read, so confirm them with the admissions office.
Beaconhouse runs two Bahawalpur branches, and neither branch page gives fee information. Its Yazman Road branch, close to Airport Road, runs from the youngest classes through to a secondary programme, with primary and middle stages in between, according to its page. Its Model Town campus lists early years, primary and project-based learning only, so, going by that listing, a child there would need another campus for the middle years. Neither page publishes a fee, a facilities list or a transport offer. Without current figures we cannot say where Beaconhouse sits against Sadiq, so ask each branch for its 2026-27 schedule and compare totals, not monthly tuition.
Without a fee table, parents still have the law on their side: Section 7A of the 1984 private-institutions ordinance caps fee rises for every class whose monthly bill reaches Rs 4,000, limiting such a school to a 5 percent yearly increase for a class, unless the Registering Authority allows up to 8 percent on an application filed at least sixty days before the new session. The same section holds admission fee and security each to a single month's tuition, treats lab, library and every other charge as fee, and lets parents buy books and uniform wherever they like. Whether a school with its own board of governors falls under the ordinance is a question to put to the school, especially where its stated increase is about 10 percent. SchoolNama's piece on Bahawalpur's low-fee options walks through the same law from the budget side.
One pending proposal would land hardest on the costliest schools. According to reports in ProPakistani (28 September 2026) and The Nation (29 September 2026), Punjab is weighing registration charges that climb with tuition, with a school whose tuition exceeds Rs 20,000 a month paying Rs 1 million for four years of registration, against Rs 10,000 at the bottom slab, and renewals costing half. Both reports say it still needs approval. If it is adopted, ask a high-fee school whether the cost will be passed on to parents.
Other premium costs depend on the family. Allied Schools' page on fee types shows the headings a chain school may use, from a non-refundable admission fee and processing fee to an annual subscription, a refundable security deposit, tuition billed two months ahead and a late fee, with no amounts. None of the fee pages we read folded vans into tuition. Our pick-and-drop directory has no Bahawalpur operator yet, so put the van question to each school: who owns the vehicles, and what a full year of rides costs. A boarding place removes the school run but adds pocket money, travel home and medical bills, all of which Sadiq lists as separate charges.
Will the premium pay off for every child? It will not by default. Horse-riding, a swimming pool and a university counsellor matter to a child who will use them; a strong Matric school closer to home may suit another child better. Boarding suits some children and not others. Before signing, put the full first-year bill next to the facilities your child would really use, then weigh it against the shortlists in our Bahawalpur best-schools and Matric-schools guides. Our Bahawalpur city page holds 30 listings and the compare tool sets a few side by side, though the fee figures themselves must come from each school, on paper.

Checklist before you decide
- ✓Ask the accounts office for the 2026-27 fee schedule on school letterhead, not a figure read out over the phone.
- ✓Add up the one-off admission charges, and query any admission fee or security larger than a single month of tuition.
- ✓List what sits outside tuition: uniform, kit, books, medical, exam board fees, Cambridge fees, trips, air-conditioning and transport.
- ✓Find out whether you pay monthly, termly or yearly, the due dates, and the penalty for paying late.
- ✓Compare the last two years of increases for your child's class, and if any topped 5 percent, ask to see the approval.
- ✓Ask whether any tax is added to the bill and under which law.
- ✓For boarding, ask for the pocket money, travel and medical costs a typical boarder runs up in a term.
- ✓Visit the facilities you are paying for and ask how often your child's class uses them.
- ✓Ask the counselling office how many students each counsellor supports and where recent leavers went.
- ✓Ask for recent Cambridge or BISE results in writing.
- ✓Ask about scholarships or sibling discounts even if the fee page says there are none.
Frequently asked questions
Which are the most expensive schools in Bahawalpur?
We cannot say honestly. On 5 October 2026 no Bahawalpur school we checked published a current fee schedule: Sadiq Public School's fee page is headed 2022-2023, and the Beaconhouse branch pages show no fees. Ranges printed on aggregator sites carry no source or date, which is why we leave them out. Request a written 2026-27 schedule from every school on your list and set the yearly totals side by side.
What is included in a premium school's fee in Bahawalpur?
At Sadiq Public School, the fee page says tuition, boarding and fund charges are billed each term, with an admission fee, refundable security and a School Development Fund at admission. Uniform, kit, books, medical treatment, boarders' pocket money and travel, and BISE and Cambridge exam fees are charged separately. Ask any other school for the same breakdown.
Can a premium Bahawalpur school raise fees by any amount it likes?
Not for classes billed at Rs 4,000 a month or above: Punjab's 1984 ordinance (section 7A) holds the yearly rise to 5 percent, and only the Registering Authority can permit more, to a ceiling of 8 percent, on an application lodged sixty or more days ahead of the session. Sadiq's 2022-2023 fee page mentions about 10 percent, so ask how its rises are approved.
Do high-fee schools in Bahawalpur offer scholarships?
Sadiq Public School's fee page says it cannot offer scholarships or fee concessions, but its website also runs a BEEF scholarship, which it describes as fully funded, covering academic and boarding costs, for selected students from Balochistan, and an SPS Scholarship Programme with an application form. Ask the admissions office which applies to your child.
Does a higher fee mean a better school?
No. A higher fee may pay for boarding, sports such as riding and swimming, or university counselling, and those are worth paying for only if your child will use them. Compare the full yearly cost with written results, class sizes and a visit, and weigh it against a strong school nearer home.
Are school vans included in Bahawalpur school fees?
Transport did not appear in any Bahawalpur fee document we read, and our pick-and-drop directory has no Bahawalpur operator so far. Check with the school who operates the vans and the price for twelve months.
