By a letter dated 23 August 2026 from the Directorate General (Monitoring and Evaluation) of the Punjab School Education Department to all District Education Authority CEOs, every public and private school in Punjab must register on the Educational Institutions Security Status (EISS) mobile application and web portal and keep its security details accurate, complete and up to date. The system, built by the Punjab Information Technology Board on the Home Department's direction, requires staff to log the school's security status during school hours and includes a panic button routed to the nearest Safe Cities response grid. No compliance deadline was stated in the reporting.
