Government fact-check: the 'four-day working week' Cabinet Division notification is fake

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's fact-check account said a notification circulating on social media claiming changes to the Government of Pakistan's working days is fake. The forged document purported to come from the Cabinet Division, was dated 16 September 2026, and claimed a Monday-to-Thursday working week with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. The ministry urged the public not to believe or share the content and to rely only on official government channels. Parents should note this forgery is the template several fake school-holiday notices have been built on this month.
