The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elementary and secondary education department and the higher education department issued separate notifications, reported on 11 March 2026, closing all public and private educational institutions in the province on Fridays and Saturdays for two months or until further notice, whichever came first. Schools were directed to continue academic activities online where possible, and universities and colleges to adopt hybrid or online instruction on the remaining working days.
