FBISE's new 50% MCQ paper pattern starts with the Second Annual 2026 exams

FBISE's Board of Governors approved a new examination pattern at its 124th meeting on 28 July 2026, splitting papers equally between multiple-choice and descriptive questions in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science. As reported, the pattern applies first at SSC-I and HSSC-I level from the Second Annual Examination 2026, and specifically to fresh candidates appearing in these examinations for the first time under the Inclusive Scheme of Studies 2024 — not to every SSC-I and HSSC-I entrant. The FBISE SSC Second Annual 2026 begins on 24 September. The board has published supporting Assessment Frameworks, Model Question Papers and Tables of Specifications on its own website, which is where families should confirm whether their child's paper is affected.
