Where to buy the uniform and the book list

Uniform and book shops across Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with phone, WhatsApp, today's hours and directions. Pick a city and an area, or open your school's page to see the shops nearest it, then WhatsApp them the list before you go.

From public listings

Found on Google Maps and in schools' own supplier lists. Each shows as Unclaimed until the shop confirms its details, so check the edition and the price with them before you go.

Buying books and uniform: what to check

Before the trip to the market, and before paying for a full set.

  1. 1Get the school's own list first: this session's book list and the exact uniform spec (colour, badge, PE kit, shoes). Lists change every year, and a shop near the school usually knows it by name.
  2. 2Buy books by edition, not title. Check the edition and publisher printed on the list against the copy in your hand; a wrong edition means different page numbers and exercises all year.
  3. 3Buy one uniform set first and try it on. Sizing differs between stockists and children grow a size in a year; buy the rest once the first set fits.
  4. 4Used books and uniforms are normal. Senior families, the school's own exchange and the used shelves of bookshops all help; check pages are complete and workbooks unused.
  5. 5Send the list on WhatsApp and ask for the complete set price. Most shops pack a full class set and tell you what is out of stock before you make the trip.
  6. 6Keep the receipt. Exchanges for size are usually fine within a few days with the tag on; printed workbooks usually cannot be returned.
  7. 7Stationery and bags are specified too: plain or lined copies, bag size, water bottle. The cheapest version is rarely the one that lasts the year.
  8. 8Shops near schools are busiest in the weeks before a new session starts. Prices change little, but stock does, so go early for odd sizes.

How we list shops

Shops come from Google Maps and from schools' own published supplier lists, and show as Unclaimed until the shop confirms its details. A claimed shop can add the schools it stocks, prices and delivery, and gets the Verified badge after a check.

Questions parents ask

Does a shop near a school stock that school's uniform?

Often, but not always. Shops near a school usually carry several nearby schools' uniforms and book lists. The shops we show on a school's page as 'near this school' are close by, not confirmed stockists, unless the shop has claimed its listing and said so. Call or WhatsApp with the school's name before you go.

Is it cheaper to buy from the school itself?

Some schools sell the uniform and books themselves or name an authorised shop. Prices there are fixed and the items are exactly right, but they are not always the lowest. Where a school publishes its stockists, we list them with the source named.

Where do parents find used books?

From families a year ahead, school-run exchanges, and the used shelves of bookshops in Saddar, Aabpara and the markaz markets. Check the edition against the list, that pages are complete, and that workbooks are unused.

Can I order on WhatsApp?

Most shops will. Send the list, ask for the complete set price and what is out of stock, then collect or ask whether they deliver. Confirm the edition for each book in the reply.
