Best Schools in Gujranwala (2026): Fees, Curriculum, Reviews and Parent Guide
Comparing schools in Gujranwala? Here is what SchoolNama's own data shows, campus by area, plus what Punjab's 2026 rules now let you ask every private school for in writing.
Short answer
Gujranwala's shortlist splits sensibly by curriculum rather than one ranked list: for Cambridge O Level, Beaconhouse has campuses at Wapda Town and Citi Housing and Roots International has one at Master City; for Matric, Pakistan International Public School (PIPS) runs three campuses, and Government College Gujranwala and Government Islamia College anchor the public sector. No campus on SchoolNama carries a school-submitted fee table yet, so ask each shortlisted school for its written fee sheet before comparing anything else.
How we researched this: We pulled every Gujranwala campus currently on SchoolNama (73 profiles across Model Town, Civil Lines and Satellite Town) from our own content files, then checked what each network's own site, BISE Gujranwala and Punjab's 2026 private-school registration rules actually say. Every fee, date, curriculum or registration claim below traces to a source we opened this week, listed at the end.
Search "best schools in Gujranwala" and you will find dozens of listicles claiming a definitive top-10, usually copied from each other and rarely checked against what a school actually publishes. We built this guide differently: we pulled every Gujranwala campus currently on SchoolNama, checked what each school's own site and Punjab's 2026 private-school rules actually say, and organised what follows around what is verifiable today rather than a single ranked list.
SchoolNama currently lists 73 Gujranwala campuses across three areas: Model Town (41), Civil Lines (23) and Satellite Town (9). Fifty-five are private and eighteen are government-run, and the mix is heavily co-ed with a smaller set of girls-only and boys-only schools. Those numbers come from open map data and school-network directories, not from schools filling in their own SchoolNama profiles yet, so a name or an area tag can be off; where the campus's own website disagrees with our imported entry, treat the school's own site as authoritative and let us know so we can correct our record.
On Cambridge O and A Level, three campuses in our Gujranwala data explicitly show O Level in their curriculum field, all cross-checked with the network's own directory. Beaconhouse School System has a Wapda Town Campus in the Satellite Town belt and a Citi Housing Campus on Canal Bank Road in Civil Lines, both listed with O Level and both reachable through Beaconhouse's own network directory. Roots International Schools & Colleges runs a Gujranwala Campus in Master City, also listed with O Level. Beaconhouse also runs two Gujranwala campuses whose senior curriculum is not yet captured in our data: the Gujranwala KG Campus in Model Town, which our record explicitly tags as early years / primary, and the Palm Tree Campus at Vaniawala More on Sialkot Bypass Road (also in Model Town), whose curriculum field is empty in our record even though Beaconhouse's own site lists Palm Tree as running Early Years, Primary, Middle Years and Secondary programmes. So if you want a Cambridge school with an on-site pathway from early years upwards, ask each campus what senior programme it feeds into. Neither Beaconhouse nor Roots publishes tuition figures on their public sites, so any exact monthly fee you see quoted for these schools on a third-party listing is unverified until the campus gives it to you in writing.
For Matric-stream schools, Pakistan International Public School (PIPS) is the most-visible private name in Gujranwala. PIPS was founded in 1983 by Brig (Retd) Ijaz Akbar, and its Wikipedia entry calls the Gujranwala branch its most notable one; PIPS's own site describes a wide footprint in Gujranwala with three operational branches (a girls' campus in Satellite Town, a co-ed campus in Model Town, and a boys' campus on Sialkot Bypass Road) and specialises in the Matric system with some branches offering O Levels alongside. On the public side, Government College Gujranwala on Pasrur Road in Satellite Town has been running since 1955, with 22 departments and staff of 145, offering both intermediate and bachelor's programmes affiliated to BISE Gujranwala and the University of the Punjab. Government Islamia College Gujranwala goes further back still, founded in 1912 as Khalsa High School and later upgraded to a postgraduate college; it enrols around 4,000 students today.
Beyond those, several familiar Pakistani school brands show up in SchoolNama's Gujranwala listings without a specific curriculum tag in our data yet, and each of them will need a campus-level conversation to confirm what stream and boards they run today. Lahore Grammar School has a listed Gujranwala campus (our record places it in the Model Town area; some directories describe it as Satellite Town, so worth confirming with the campus itself). The Educators, a school network that Beaconhouse has helped fund and manage, has a Gujranwala College campus on Service Road, and Garrison Academy Junior Campus (part of the Army Public Schools and Colleges System) is listed in Model Town. Bloomfield Hall School, KIPS College, Allied School (several branches) and Punjab College's Gujranwala campuses fill out the recognisable-brand shortlist for parents looking for a familiar name.
Public colleges you may see on your shortlist for FSc-stage children include Government College for Boys and the Government College for Girls (both in Civil Lines and Model Town respectively in our data), and multiple government high schools spread across the three areas. Combined with Government College Gujranwala and Government Islamia College, the government sector remains the largest single provider of secondary and intermediate education in the city, and it is often significantly cheaper than the private networks; the tradeoff is class size, facilities and curriculum breadth versus the private options.
One genuinely new and useful fact for Gujranwala parents this year: in May 2026, Punjab overhauled private-school registration rules. Every private school now has to register through a centralised online portal run by the Private School Regulatory Authority Punjab, disclose its fee structure, provide transport for at least half of its enrolled students, reserve at least ten percent of admissions for underprivileged children, install security cameras, and register on the Punjab Safety App and Green School App. The cited notification does not spell out penalty amounts, so in practice what this actually gives you as a parent is a fair, on-the-record basis to ask any Gujranwala private school on your shortlist to show its written fee structure and its current PSRA registration status, rather than accept a verbal quote.
On exams: BISE Gujranwala (bisegrw.edu.pk) is the board that registers Class 9 and 10 students at Matric-stream schools across Gujranwala division. Its 2026 SSC First Annual result was declared on 6 August 2026, with 168,266 of 242,192 students passing for an overall pass percentage of 69.48. The Second Annual (supplementary) SSC 2026 date sheet, common to all nine Punjab boards including Gujranwala, has Class 10 written papers running 6 to 16 October and practicals through 17 November, morning papers starting 9:00am with reporting 30 minutes early. If your child is Matric-stream, treat BISE Gujranwala's own site as the source of truth for registration windows and date sheets rather than a date printed in last year's article.
A note on reviews and star ratings, in Gujranwala and everywhere else: SchoolNama's parent-review system is live, but Gujranwala campuses do not yet carry real parent submissions, so any rating you see on a campus profile right now is either not present or is early seed data, not a verdict from Gujranwala parents. Use word-of-mouth from other parents in your target area, WhatsApp groups from your child's future classmates, and an actual campus visit instead of trusting any single star rating you see online, on SchoolNama or elsewhere, until the review base grows.
Put practically, a sensible way to shortlist in Gujranwala: pick your curriculum first (Matric via BISE Gujranwala, or O and A Level via Cambridge), then pick your area (Model Town if you want the widest choice, Civil Lines if you want the Cambridge-heavy corridor along Canal Bank Road and Master City, Satellite Town if you want the older established schools and colleges near Government College), then compare two or three campuses within that area on facilities, transport arrangements, class size, and the school's own written fee sheet, not a number quoted by a tutoring website.

Checklist before you decide
- ✓Confirm the curriculum and board (Matric via BISE Gujranwala, O and A Level via Cambridge, or both) before comparing anything else.
- ✓Ask for the fee structure in writing - Punjab's May 2026 rules now require private schools to disclose it, so a verbal-only quote is fair to push back on.
- ✓Ask to see the school's current registration with the Private School Regulatory Authority Punjab (PSRA), not just a verbal claim.
- ✓Ask about transport specifically: does the school run its own vans, or use named third-party operators? Punjab's new rules require coverage for at least half of enrolled students.
- ✓For Matric-stream schools, check BISE Gujranwala's current-year registration window directly at bisegrw.edu.pk rather than assuming last year's dates apply.
- ✓Visit the campus in person rather than relying on a star rating - Gujranwala review data on SchoolNama and most other sites is still thin.
- ✓If comparing branches of the same network (two Beaconhouse or two Allied School campuses, for instance), ask what actually differs branch to branch - fees, facilities and teacher tenure can vary within one brand.
Frequently asked questions
Which schools should parents shortlist in Gujranwala?
There is no single verified number one in Gujranwala - shortlist by category instead. For Cambridge O Level, Beaconhouse (Wapda Town, Citi Housing) and Roots International (Master City) are the confirmed options in our data. For Matric, Pakistan International Public School (PIPS) runs three campuses and Government College Gujranwala anchors the public sector. Familiar private names with a Gujranwala presence also include The Educators, Lahore Grammar School, Bloomfield Hall, Allied School, KIPS and Punjab College.
What are the fee bands for schools in Gujranwala?
Neither Beaconhouse nor Roots International publishes tuition figures on their official sites as of today, and no Gujranwala campus on SchoolNama has a school-submitted fee table yet, so we are not printing an unverified number. Punjab's May 2026 regulation now requires private schools to disclose their fee structure, so ask the campus for this in writing during a visit rather than relying on a third-party estimate site.
Which schools offer O Levels or Matric in Gujranwala?
On O Level, our data explicitly lists Beaconhouse Wapda Town Campus, Beaconhouse Citi Housing Campus and Roots International Gujranwala Campus (Master City), each cross-checked with the network's own directory. On Matric, PIPS is the most-visible private name and Government College Gujranwala and Government Islamia College anchor the public side, with dozens of government high schools registering Class 9-10 students with BISE Gujranwala each year.
Which areas of Gujranwala have the strongest options?
By sheer number of SchoolNama listings, Model Town (41) has the widest choice and includes several Beaconhouse and PIPS campuses. Civil Lines (23) is the Cambridge-heavy corridor along Canal Bank Road and Master City, with both a Beaconhouse and a Roots International Cambridge campus. Satellite Town (9) has fewer total listings but includes Government College Gujranwala on Pasrur Road and Beaconhouse Wapda Town Campus.
What should parents verify before admission?
Curriculum and board affiliation, the school's written fee structure (now required under Punjab's 2026 rules), its current registration with the Private School Regulatory Authority Punjab, its transport arrangement, and an in-person campus visit - a star rating alone is not enough given how little verified review data exists for Gujranwala yet.
