Two gazetted public holidays are left for everyone in 2026, plus a third on 26 December for Christians. The Cabinet Division circular F.No. 10-1/2025-Min-II, issued at Islamabad on 19 January 2026, lists "Allama Iqbal Day" on Monday 9 November 2026 and "Quaid-e-Azam Day/ Christmas" on Friday 25 December 2026, with "Day after Christmas" on Saturday 26 December 2026 marked "(For Christians only)". Neither of the remaining two is moon-sighting dependent, so unlike Eid or Ashura they will not move; the circular's asterisk note about the appearance of the moon applies only to the Muslim festivals, all of which have already fallen this year (Eid Milad-un-Nabi was the last, on 25–26 August). The same circular also lists optional holidays still ahead: Durga Puja (Monday 19 October), Dussehra (Tuesday 20 October), Birthday of Guru Valmik Sawami Ji (Monday 26 October), Diwali (Monday 9 November) and Birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Tuesday 24 November). Optional holidays are denominational and, in the circular's words, "may be allowed at the discretion of the Head of Organization" — they are not automatic school closures, so families observing them should ask the school in advance rather than assume a day off. Provinces and district administrations can still notify extra local holidays on top of this list.
