BBISE Quetta has notified a one-time reduction in the SSC syllabus for the upcoming annual examination. Notification No. 245-250/28/BBISE/2026, dated 25 September 2026, is titled "ONE-TIME PROPORTIONATE REDUCTION IN SYLLABUS FOR THE UPCOMING SSC ANNUAL EXAMINATION 2026" and is issued "In exercise of Rule 135 of the BBISE Rules, 2026, and keeping in view the available academic data and the reduced number of working days during the current academic session". For Grade IX the excluded chapters are Mathematics 3 and 11, Physics 13 and 14, Chemistry 15 and 16, and Biology 6 and 8. For Grade X they are Mathematics 4 and 12, Physics 16 and 17, Chemistry 15 and 16, and Biology 17 and 18. Tarjuma-tul-Quran is "Already reduced as per the syllabus available at www.bbise.edu.pk". Urdu, English and Islamiat — and, for Grade X, Pakistan Studies — get no reduction because, the board says, "sufficient working days are available for syllabus coverage". The board is explicit that "Only the chapters specified above are excluded from the upcoming SSC Annual Examination 2026; all remaining prescribed syllabus shall be examinable." The notification has been circulated to the Director Schools Balochistan and to all heads of high schools and cadet colleges affiliated with BBISE.
