O Level in Abbottabad (2026): Which Schools Are Cambridge-Registered, Which Teach It, and What They Charge

Parents searching for the best O Level schools in Abbottabad usually start from a list of well-known names. That is a reasonable instinct, but it answers the wrong question. What you actually need to know is which campuses teach the Cambridge O Level programme right now, what it costs, and how to judge their results. This guide works from Cambridge International's own register, then checks each school against what it publishes about itself.

Queried for Abbottabad on 25 September 2026, Cambridge's school directory returns four registered centres: Army Burn Hall College for Boys, Beaconhouse Abbottabad Campus, The City School Abbottabad, and Upstream School System. None of the four is listed as accepting private candidates, which means each enters only its own enrolled students. For Abbottabad the register publishes no street address and no website for any of the four, so every further detail below comes from the schools' own pages.

Two of the four confirm O Level in their own words. Army Burn Hall College for Boys states on its admissions page that its own students who have appeared in the Matric and O Level exams are discharged and must re-qualify for the next stage, and it sets its A Level entry requirement as an O Level pass in the year of application with minimum B grades. The college runs both a Cambridge stream and a Matric and FSc stream, so if you are applying, say which one you want. The City School's campus directory, filtered to Abbottabad and to the O Level class level, returns its Abbottabad Campus on Main Supply Bazaar Road, next to the UBL main branch and opposite Chen-One, and the card describes it as Class 3 - O Level & Matric. The City School's other Abbottabad branch, a nursery on Main Mansehra Road, runs PG to Class 2 only.

The other two registered centres stop short of confirmation. Beaconhouse's page for its Abbottabad Campus, near the DIG office and opposite the PTCL exchange in Cantt, lists a Secondary School Programme and a College Programme without naming O Level. The network's general O Level page says most Beaconhouse students sit O Level after Class VIII, and the campus holds a Cambridge registration, so O Level is likely here, but the branch page does not say so and you should ask. Beaconhouse's Kunhar Campus on Main Supply Road lists only Early Years, Primary Years and Middle Years programmes, so it is not an O Level option in itself. We could not find or load an official website for Upstream School System, so we could not confirm which stages it teaches in Abbottabad.

The register is not the whole story in Abbottabad, and this is where the city differs from others we have covered. Two more schools describe a Cambridge stream on their own sites without turning up in a city-level search. PIPS, the Pakistan International Public School and College, says of its boys' college near Kaghan Colony on Mansehra Road that it takes students from Class VI to FSc and that they can choose a Cambridge stream for O Level; its girls' college on the Karakoram Highway in Lower Jinnahabad says it also offers O Level. Army Burn Hall College for Girls, at Gammi Adda, lists a Cambridge Wing running classes PJC-II to IV, JC and SC alongside its Montessori, Junior, Middle and Senior wings. We could not establish from public sources why these schools do not appear, so treat their absence from the register as a question to put to the school, not a verdict. Ask each of these schools which centre its O Level candidates are entered through.

Fees are where Abbottabad is unusually transparent, at least for the two Burn Hall colleges. Army Burn Hall College for Boys publishes a fee structure with effect from 1 March 2026. The boys' college does not define its class labels on its site, but at the girls' college the same labels, JC and SC, make up the Cambridge Wing, and the boys' fee sheet lists Classes 9 and 10 separately, so JC and SC are almost certainly the O Level years; confirm this with the school. For JC and SC, the monthly day-scholar fee is Rs 18,295, the day-boarder fee is Rs 31,531 a month, and boarders pay Rs 167,355 a quarter. For comparison, Classes 9 and 10 are Rs 17,276 a month for day scholars. Admission charges total Rs 47,100 (an admission fee, building fund and maintenance fund of Rs 15,000 each, plus college magazine and calendar charges), and the refundable security is Rs 50,000 for day scholars, Rs 80,000 for day boarders and Rs 150,000 for boarders. Army Burn Hall College for Girls publishes a school fee table that is not dated and is marked subject to revision. It lists the O Level classes for day scholars at Rs 18,688 a month, with an admission fee, building fund and maintenance fund of Rs 15,000 each, and a refundable security deposit of Rs 25,000 for day scholars.

Treat both schedules as a starting point rather than a full bill. Neither lists Cambridge examination entry fees, which are not included in these schedules, and the girls' college's table carries no date. None of the other schools in this guide publishes an O Level fee on the pages we opened, so we have not quoted one. SchoolNama holds no verified fee record for any Abbottabad campus either. Ask every shortlisted school for a written schedule covering tuition, admission and security charges, and the Cambridge entry fee for each subject your child will sit.

Subjects are harder to pin down. The girls' Burn Hall college lists English, Urdu, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science for its school classes, without a separate list for the Cambridge wing. None of the other schools published an O Level subject list on the pages we opened. If your child needs a specific combination, such as Computer Science with all three sciences or Additional Mathematics, confirm it is running at that campus this year.

Apply the same discipline to results. None of the schools we checked published cohort-level Cambridge results. PIPS says its girls' college has shown exceptional results over decades, and the Beaconhouse network page mentions O Level distinctions from 2016, but neither statement gives you anything to compare. If results will drive your decision, ask for the number of candidates entered in the most recent series, the subjects entered, and the full grade distribution. With those three figures you can compare two schools honestly. A list of top achievers without a cohort size does not let you do that.

It is worth being straight about how little SchoolNama's own data adds here. The platform holds 46 campus records for Abbottabad, and not one carries an O Level or Cambridge tag in its curriculum field. The addresses above run from Cantt and Main Supply Bazaar Road to Mansehra Road, Gammi Adda and the Karakoram Highway at Lower Jinnahabad, and several of these schools take boarders, which changes the question entirely. PIPS says its Abbottabad boys' college is the only PIPS campus with boarding, and Army Burn Hall College for Boys publishes separate boarder and day-boarder rates. Ask day schools whether they run their own vans and whether your area is already on a route.
