What a school really costs in Islamabad, 2026–27

Monthly fee is the number everyone quotes. It is rarely more than 60% of what you will actually pay in year one. Here is the full picture, campus by campus.

Ask any parent in Islamabad what a school costs and they will give you a monthly figure. Ask them what they paid in the first year and the answer is usually a pause, then a much larger number.

That gap is made of admission fees, annual charges, security deposits, books, uniforms and transport. For a Grade 5 admission at a mid-range Cambridge campus in the DHA–Bahria belt, we found the first-year total runs between PKR 5.5 and 7.5 lakh once everything is counted — roughly 1.8× the monthly fee multiplied by twelve.

The biggest variable after tuition is transport. A both-ways van seat on the PWD–Bahria corridor costs PKR 9,000–12,000 a month, which over a school year is comparable to the annual charges themselves.

We have started tracking these numbers on every campus profile as an estimated first-year cost, split by what the school charges and what parents report spending outside the school. If your numbers differ, you can report them from the campus page and we will fold them in.
